why are there streaks on my carpet after steam cleaning??
Please help! I have used my upright steam cleaner for about two years and the last time I used about two weeks ago it seemed to leave streaks on my carpet. They are about an inch across all across my carpet...almost looks like the wheels left the streaks, but they are much lighter than my carpet. It looks like I only cleaned in those tiny areas but obviously I did the whole carpet. This has never happened before and I'm afraid to try and go back over it in case it happens again. Help! Any suggestions?

Could it be leftover soap residue?
