Black or White tree?

I'm getting a new artificial tree and don't want a traditional green one we've always had.  I want either a black or white tree and can't decide.  My decorations are pink, cream and gold.  What do you think, the black or white one?

Re: Black or White tree?

  • I personall hate white Christmas trees, even real ones painted white.

So, black is my vote. Is there a reason you don't want a real tree?

I like real trees but honestly they're too much work and messy with the needles falling on the ground and everything, then having to dispose of it afterwards.  I haven't had a real tree since I was a kid actually.

Oh, and thanks for the vote, I am leaning more towards the black one :)

  • With your pink, cream and gold decor I think the white tree would look better. Just my opinion though :)
  • The black one reminds me of halloween.

  • With those colors, I would do a white tree.

I did my first white tree this year, and it turned out better than I had hoped!

  • I usually don't like white trees, but I agree that I think that the white one would look the best with the colors you are decorating with.

Ohhhh, thank you but those decorations in my siggy pic aren't mine, I do love them too though, lol.  Mine are similar, but a mixture of pink, cream and gold.  My H really doesn't give any input into how to decorate the tree but he always says it looks beautiful, so I guess he doesn't have any prob with all the pink :)

  • I thought a black tree would look Halloween-y, but the picture changed my mind....the black tree is really pretty.

  • The black tree doesn't look black to me, just a dark green.  So, I'd go with white.  But I still like the idea of a black tree too.

I know, it wasn't until I saw it that I thought it was actually really nice.  If anyone would've told me they were getting a black tree before, I would've thought that's kinda weird.

Exactly, that's how it looks in person too, it's not a striking black tree, kinda muted black, ya know?  But that's why I like it.

  • I love the "black" tree. I think it would give a more modern look. Pink, cream, gold would all pop off the dark tree nicely. I also really like the shape of the darker tree.
