Does anyone have a tried and true
fudge recipe? I tried several years ago and got chocolate soup instead of fudge.
I want to try again, but i'm nervous to try anything i just find online. does anyone have one that is fool proof? lol
Re: Does anyone have a tried and true
Here's mine -
3 c. sugar
3/4 c. margerine
2/3c. evaporated milk
1 12oz. pkg. choc. chips (can use peanut butter or butterscotch chips also.)
1 7oz. jar marshmallow fluff
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
In. lrg. sauce pan, melt margerine. Add sugar and evaporated milk. Bring to a full boil, stirring frequently. Continue to boil for 5 full minutes over med. heat. Remove from heat and stir in choc. chips until melted. Add marshmallow fluff, nuts, and vanilla. Stir until well blended. Pour into a 13x9 or 9x7 pan. Cool at room temp. Cut into squares.
5 minute fudge
1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate morsels9 ounces (3/4 of a 12-ounce bag) butterscotch morsels1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk1 teaspoon vanilla extractPlace a heavy pot on the stove and preheat it over low heat. Add chips and milk and stir until chips are melted and milk combined. Stir in vanilla and remove fudge from heat. If you want to add nuts or anything to the fudge, now is the time to add it. Then you can either put the empty can in the middle of a round cake pan, and make it like a wreath, spooning the chocolate mixture around the can. I usually use disposable foil pans to make it easy. Or put it in a foil lined 8x8 pan. Using the foil makes it easy to lift out when you want to cut it. The fudge will set up quickly, so if you want to garnish it at all (I've done it with m&m's, marshmallows and graham crackers and other fun things) it has to be done fairly quickly.
