storm damage

There was a large tree that's now lying across our neighbor's backyard.  I've been looking at the arial property tax maps and I think the tree was on our property (we have an irregularly shaped lot).  Crud.  I have no idea how we're going to take care of it.

ETA:  If anyone has an recommendations for a tree service that serves York county, I'd appreciate it.

Re: storm damage

  • I always thought if a tree or branches falls from your property fall into someone else's, it's their responsibility to deal with the part on their property (providing that the tree was in good health)?

  • Not sure about the responsibility part, but we have used McCann Tree Care from Waterboro and really liked him.

    Hmm.  I'm not sure.

  • You can just do what my DH did and just leave it laying in the yard for 10 months (and counting). Then when your spouse says they will call a tree service you can get mad and say you will take care of it....but then don't take care of it.  Confused
  • Well, the question is now moot.  DH was going to leave work at 1 to come home and look at the tree with me in the daylight but I just heard the neighbor outside with a chainsaw cutting up the tree!
