What things (big and small) get you in the Christmas Spirit?
Re: Christmas Spirit POLL
- Wrapping Presents
- Home Alone (the original)
- Christmas Carols- can't get enough of them
- Luminaries throughout the neighborhood
The snow last weekend
Christmas songs (after Thanksgiving)
I'm feeling awfully bah humbug so far this year. No particular reason, we're busy at work, which is good, but it doesn't allow me time to do some of my normal stuff (or things I'd really LIKE to do).
Last year, going to this concert was the #1 thing Dh and I did all last holiday season. I'm CRUSHED we can't go this year--and this time they have THREE shows in Raleigh--and I have to work during ALL of them.
They put on an amazing show--and are worth their priced tag!

I do love Christmas music, so I enjoy listening to that as much as I can--and think it's a travesty that the day after none of the radio stations play it anymore--I wish the "all Christmas music all the time" radio stations would start at Thanksgiving (currently, most of the ones near us start before T-day) and go through New Years (current ones stop Dec 26). It'd be the same amount of time for those stations, so I don't understand why they don't do this.
I also love looking at all the Christmas lights in neighborhoods--but it seems that there are fewer and fewer neighborhoods doing stuff this year.
Decorating our house - which we do the weekend after Thanksgiving
Wrapping presents
Baking things I dont normally bake the rest of the year
Christmas movies - the oldies, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, The Homecoming (the waltons) and of course A Christmas Story (just to name a few)
I also like going out and seeing houses decorated, but like Derky says fewer and fewer people decorate - which is very sad.
