Good morning ladies!
I walked into the breakroom to find my co-workers discussing the awesomeness of Sarah Palin's TV show. Apparently because she killed a bear, they're in awe of her political smarts. When I disagreed, I was told that the real morons are Obama and Pelosi. Sarah Palin knows what real Americans want.

I thought they wanted to eat cookies and get fat? That's why she brought cookies to a private school, so public school kids won't be subject to Michelle Obama's crazy get healthy campaign. What obesity epidemic?
Anyway, politics aside, I feel like I'm expected to buy gifts for too many people this year. We're about to wipe out our savings by buying a house and here I'm spending hundreds of bucks on Christmas presents. My own immediate family understands and is kinda non-consumerist anyway. But I just spent $70 on one gift for MIL (in laws are consummate consumers) and I have 10 people in my extended family to buy for. I'm thinking of just sending cards and pictures for the adults, but what about my cousins' six kids? I usually send gift cards, but I don't even want to do that this year. I feel like I need to acknowledge them somehow though. The whole thing just makes me angry.
Get the 6 kids a joint gift of a game (or two). There are some really awesome games out there right now. If there is a baby in the family, maybe a little something just for her (board book), but games are great.
Umm, that whole Sarah Palin thing is INSANE. My MIL is a big fan of her's and thank goodness we don't talk politics ever cuz she'd realize I can't stand her. We actually bought her the new book for Christmas, and I almost wanted to tell the clerk at the register it wasn't for me...just to clear the air...haha!
My vent is all about how Dh's work party is this weekend...at OUR house. And I really have no clue what's going on because his boss still insists on being in charge. Look dude, it's at MY house...I'll plan the menu, I'll make the food and you just show up to eat and drink.I don't know if I'm supposed to go to the store or anything and Dh doesn't even want to deal with it, so he's just not talking about it anymore. Driving me NUTS.
