Hidding places?

I'm going through our on-line orders this morning.  A woman placed an order for her husband (I'm assuming because we sell Harley Parts) on on the shipping address she put "Do Not Open Me."  I thought that was so funny and such a smart thing to do.  Hopefully her hubby/boyfriend does not open it.

Yesterday I woke up early so I could wrap two of his gifts.  The other two I hid under my side of the bed.  I specifically told him NOT to look under my side of the bed.  We'll see if he can refrain himself from doing so.

Where have you or will you been hiding DH's Christmas gifts?

Re: Hidding places?

  • Well, now H knows what I'm getting him, so it's a moot point. However, I was planning on hiding it in the shed.

In the past, I've hidden his gifts at my friends' places.

H is the good hider of the two of us. Last year he got me a Jessica Simpson coat I'd been wanting and hid it in the hanging bag his old suit was in.

  • Don knows what he's getting this year.  It's wrapped and sitting under the tree already.  He may or may not know because we have gifts under there already for my Mom and her fiance.

In the past I usually hide them in my closet with my purses or shoes since he NEVER goes in there.

  • If getting things shipped, I send them to myself at work.  So many places put large logos on boxes now a days that I don't even want him seeing the box.  Typically, I will either keep stuff at work till closer to the date or keep it in my car (depending if it can withhold cold weather).

Since I'm the one that does all the x-mas shopping and wrapping for presents, I know what presents go to who.  So sometimes I'll leave name tags off until I HAVE to put them on, that way he won't know what ones are his and only I would know.  this ALWAYS works.

  • This year, I left one of his presents at my parents since it was bought on BF and they're wrapping it for me. As for the others, I just buy then wrap them when he's not around. He's good about not looking/wanting to know anyway so if I told him not to look some place, he wouldn't.

He never hides anything for me because he never buys it til the last minute so it doesn't matter. He's yet to buy my birthday present (this Wednesday) or anything for Christmas that I don't know about.

  • Most times, I wrap them right away and then I just have a stack of ALL the gifts and he never really bothers with them.  I don't label his gifts, either, but he hasn't figured that out yet (after 4 years??) so if he sees those he always asks me who they're for and I lie  Embarrassed  If I can't wrap them right away, I'm with JenO - stash them in with my girlie stuff in the closet, or even in my underwear drawer.

  • Me and H give each other our Christmas presents early, when I say early I mean right when we buy them. He bought me a pair of Nike Shox last week and gave them to me that day. And I bought him shirts and gave them to him that night. We typically buy eachother only 2 large or slightly expensive items and thats it, so we don't even bother wrapping them. If I decied to get him something small this year I will just hide it in my closet. We both have our own walk in closets and mine is already stuffed with gifts for other people (not wrapped).

  • Yup, I usually ship to a different address.   I don't think he would open it deliberately, but he ships like 5 packages to our house a day and I'm pretty sure he would just tear into it thinking it's his.

  • I shipped mine to work and had a coworker take it home until Christmas week. I'm sure he'll still find a way to find out what's in it though!

  • J's stuff is currently in the trunk of my car and I need to do something about it. The other day we were loading up the car for a roadtrip and I screamed when he was about to open my trunk - I'm out of excuses, and only so much can fit in my backseat. Oops.

  • Tom has known about his gifts for the past 2 years so we've just shoved all of the gifts in the closet/spare room/whatever.

I did buy him the chocolate bars he likes as his stocking stuffer and I stuck them in the drawer of my end table yesterday. Of course he needed to go into my end table last night. If he found them, he didn't comment on it.

This is why I no longer hide stuff in my car.  Last year I had his gifts in there and he almost found them.  I had to yell at him to get out of the trunk.

Em- DH is the same.  He will be buying my gifts about 2 days prior to Christmas.

  • In the VERY back of my walk-in closet - he wouldn't dare go back there and has no reason to lol

  • I don't hide them. Sometimes I trick wrap though.

  • I wrapped everything and put them all in a coffin size storage bin in the laundry room.  He would really have to dig to find his.  My son on the other hand unwraps and rewraps his stuffIndifferent

Hence why I will NOT pick up his major gift until next week.

  • I usually ship stuff to my parents house so he won't see where it's from...but then I bring it home, and we both hide gifts behind coats and clothes on either side of our closet (he has the right and I have the left). We both know where they are, but it's understood there's no peeking and neither of us has ever tried :)
  • I take presents to my inlaws house and they will hold it for me until Christmas Eve, not because DH snoops but because I love to give presents and I would give it to him earlier lol

  • I hid James' xbox at my grandma's house. It was sitting there since the end of October! I finally brought it home last week and into our apartment, my timing was perfect since he wasn't home and i wrapped it and hid it under the tree. I don't think he has any idea still Surprise. Other stuff, I've either bought and hid in my dresser drawer or some place in the closet, sort of hidden.

If I want to hide the homemade cookies, I hide those in the veggie drawer in the fridge, he never looks there.

  • I made DH hide in the kitchen while I brought the gifts in the house and took them right into one of the bedrooms, then wrapped them right away. Hidden in plain sight under the tree is the best way for me!
