Its looking like my hubby & I will be moving to Atlanta after the new year. He has been offered a job with Delta Airlines, working at their headquarters at the Hartfield International Airport.
So Nesties I am looking for some insight on where to live, and to work. I'm a hairstylist (working in Scottsdale, AZ) looking for a nice upscale full service salon & spa.
Also, if anyone currently works for Delta, some advice would be amazing. Seeing as moving across the country is stressful!
Thank you so much in advance.
Re: Relocating from Arizona!
Early welcome!
The living question is pretty intense because there are a LOT of neighborhoods here...What is most important to your family- proximity to work? Great shopping/restaurants? In the city or a suburb? Schools? Just from what you said, I'd think Decatur, Buckhead or Midtown could be good....But let us know what you really want in a neighborhood and we'll do the best we can
Definitely enjoy the burbs versus the city, we live in a master planned community right now, so having everything together is a major plus. Schools right now are not a big deal, but looking to live in a young family area with lots of shopping!
Thanks again!

A lot of Delta people live in Peachtree City, but it is a little pricey. It is a pretty good community though (DH grew up there).
The commute from the south side is definitely better than from the north side... I live in Palmetto (Coweta County, just north of Newnan) and I drive about 40 miles to work... it takes my about 30 minutes in the morning and 45 in the afternoon.
Welcome to the board! I agree with pps...if you want to live in the suburbs, you might want to look south of town. The commute from the northside will be absolutely dreadful.
Avoid Henry County. The school system lost their accreditation, and I know you said schools weren't a big deal right now, but it will make selling a house very difficult. Good luck!
Do you mean Clayton County? Henry Co. has pretty good schools. Clayton lost the accreditation but got it back within a year. I'd say yeah, avoid Clayton Co.
