  • I just watched it and it definitely makes me laugh. Stu your twang comes out really strong on some random words.

I was laughing at how violent you are "I'm gonna punch you, I'm going to kick you" haha

  • I didn't think your accent was much different from what we have here in NC. I went to college my freshman year in SC and they continually made fun of my acccent!

  • My cousin who is from Maryland used to call my cell phone just to hear my voicemail so she could let her friends hear my accent!!  Now, when I lived in GA for college, it was WAAAAAAY worse!!!

  • yeah, even though I do use "y'all" in my common every day verbage...I don't think I have an accent. My mom is from New Jersey and my dad doesnt have an accent either really.

When my mom and I were waiting in line to see the Coliseum in Rome, there was a family in front of us from Kansas or something. When they found out we were from Texas their reaction was "but you don't sound like George W. Bush." Great...apparently that's what people think those of us from Texas sound like Tongue Tied

  • I'll have to watch it when I get home.

  • LOL I didn't think your accents were all that noticeable! I was surprised by that, actually. I thought they'd be thicker. It is true, of course, that PA Hick is not all that far-removed from Southern.

I think mine would probably be a lot worse if my dad hadn't been in the military.  We've lived all over so nothing ever really stuck I guess.  Adam is originally from the north.  He was born in St. Louis, but lived in Illinois I think until he was 13 or something.

    Ahh, that explains it!

My college friends (mostly from Idaho or the Pacific Northwest) would sometimes tease me about my "accent." My roommate said it was more noticeable after I got off the phone with my folks. There is a faint western twang, and they do talk more slowly out there. It was never that noticeable to me, but I guess my rapid speech and slurring was noticeable to them.

My old roommate went to IUP.. After living with her 4+ years everyone said I started to talk like her and that I picked up her PA accent she got at college. Now I am without an accent unless I hang out with her a lot.. It sorta comes back. Also... I have never said "ya'll" in my life!!

  • When I get around my family, I have more of a southern drawl because they have thicker accents.

Agreed. Not too thick of an accent. Funny vid though!

  • I have a bit of a Southern drawl but I don't think  I really have an accent.  When I worked for NCA instructing camps in the summer my accent would get really thick!  I worked a lot of private camps in tiny little Texas towns and the accent would rear its ugly head!
