Re: i hate being home alone

  • Sorry! I'm there with you but I have both animals to keep me company/ drive me crazy. DH is in Seattle but he's home for the following two weeks (and then gone all of January- I dislike when he doesn't come home for the weekends, which there is 1 that month --boo)
  • I get like that too sometimes. Too freaked out to sleep, to scared to stay awake.

I am getting better since DH has been gone a ton lately and is leaving again tomorrow. He just got back Sat after 2 weeks and he was gone the 2 wks before thanksgiving too. So he has been home 10 days since Nov 4th, not in a row, and he went to hunting camp for some of it, and he doesn't even hunt.

  • The summer that DH worked at Upward Bound and I worked at camp, I left the lights on on the porch, in the kitchen, in the hallway leading upstairs, in the bathroom, I have a nightlight in the office and our room, EVERY night... plus I had Cider... I don't blame you!

  • I love being home alone!  Maybe because it so rarely happens for me anymore.  Last Sunday when DH was at work and DD was with her grandparents was the first time I had been alone at home in months.

  • I hate it too! DH will travel occassionally for work. I leave all the outside lights on, plus I'll usually sleep with my cell phone, car keys and the dog's leash right next to the bed..just in case we need to make a quick get away in the middle of the night. LOL I know it's silly, but gives me a (probably false) sense of security.

I think the thing that freaks me out the most is that our basement is a walk-out basement, so it has a full size window and a full size door. If someone got in I wouldn't hear them until they were upstairs. I've been pestering DH to get one of those alarm things that you can put on the doors and windows for the basement, so at least if someone tried to break in the basement an alarm would go off.

  • But you can eat all the tuna noodle casserole you want! (I forget if you're one of the nesties that likes this.)
