Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

AW: good news at work today
I know this is AWish but I'm pretty excited and wanted to share! Today our annual performance ratings were released. I expected mine to be about the same or a bit lower because I do feel my health issues have affected my work a bit over the last year and I haven't been fully meeting my own expectations for myself.
Um, no. There was a huge jump up in my rating! AND I've been told I should start applying for promotion again during the winter 2012 round! (Background on promotions - we have annual cycles where you apply. I was promoted a little under 2 years ago. Usually you have to wait 4-7 years for the next promotion (if ever).) Knowing that I get to start applying 3 years after the last one is a big boost. I was told I'm ready for the next level up now but there are enough other people who are ready and have been in my position for a couple of years longer than me, that there is no chance I can get it this winter. That's 100% okay with me. All in all, this all makes me feel so much better about my performance this last year! :-)

Congratulations! And so very deserving (even for a lazy, dumb government employee, right? Pbbbt!)!
I think it's awesome that you performed so well despite your health issues-- imagine how much you're going to wow them now that you're at 100%!
