Ang

So my overnight oatmeal was AWFUL! It was a jello-like consistence and tasted like mush. I threw it out. Any suggestions?

Re: Ang

  • Oh no!  Here is how I make it and it is mushy, but not jello-y.  I also add some slivered almonds for crunch when I eat it.

    2c steet cut oats

    2c milk (I use 1%)

    2c water

    1 apple peeled and cubed

    dash of cinnamon and nutmeg

    2tbsp brown sugar

    golden raisins

    flax seed

    pinch of salt

    1tbsp oil

Mix all that stuff together and put in crockpot on low for about 4 hours.  Try that one out ; )

Also, once I have leftovers in the fridge, I always add a little milk before reheating it to break it up a bit.

  • Thanks! I will try again! I cooked it for 8 hours on low, which was prob a BIG part of the problem!
