Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Birthday Cards

What do you do with old birthday cards.  Do you keep them?

Re: Birthday Cards

  • Most of them I just throw away (this is why I don't like greeting cards, they are expensive and I imagine most people do just throw them away). If it is one that is special and I want to keep, I tuck it away in a drawer in my office.

I have seen some people use old greeting cards (just the front part with the picture, not the back half with the message) as a name tag on gifts.

"You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness."
  • I toss them, unless it's something really special and then I keep them in a box.
