Thoughts on Snow: Yay or Nay?
With the first big snowfall of the season, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like it or is it a pain?
Seeing the closings scroll at the bottom of the TV makes me wish I was back in school! LOL Snow is definitely a nuisance when having to go into work..
Re: Thoughts on Snow: Yay or Nay?
Nay, Nay, Triple NAY! I've decided it's already lost its novelty.

Now that I'm not teaching, I like the snow a lot less. I typically root for a two hour delay, that way we can take our time in the morning, but my 2 older kids still go to school.
Yay - only if there's enough to close Cincinnati Public Schools. I drive appx 100 miles a day for work, and I get a snow day only if CPS is closed.
I'm dreading driving around today, especially since most of my driving is in Clermont county where all the schools cancelled. Grumble.
I like it when I don't have to go outside or drive too much, but it always seems to snow during the week.
If I can park my butt on the couch with a book and hot chocolate, then bring it on. Otherwise I'd prefer it to be a consistent 72 degrees and sunny.

I am ALWAYS a huge fan of lots of snow! What we get in Cincy is nothing like we get where I am from, so I can def handle this no problem.
I will say, though, that I was very surprised the roads were barely plowed on my way to work today. I expected them to be a lot more clear, but oh well. I didn't have any trouble getting in.
My car handles the snow ok. I'm not too worried about myself driving in the snow. I am worried about these three things:
-The wind gusts that I keep seeing. My car weighs about 10 lbs. Well, more than that, but only because I have a lot of crap in my car.
-That person out there on the road that goes "OMG a snowflake hit my windshield!" *swerve*
-That person out there who says "Look at me, I gots an SUV, watch me dodge traffic while going 90 mph!"
A-freaking-men.

Double this.
I know several people that are these exact same ways. I understand using caution and going a bit slower, but I've known people to go about 5-10 MPH b/c a few flurries are coming down. I also know several people that drive like a bat out of hell b/c they have all wheel drive or 4WD and then end up sliding into something.
I can even deal with the slow people, as long as I can get around them somehow. It's the ones who freak out, slam on their brakes, overcorrect, etc. because they don't have a clue how to drive in snow....they effing scare me.
