T & P for our pooch Taylor on Thursday

our poor old man has to have major surgery on thursday. both hips and both knees.

taylor is 12 and is (probably) a cocker/springer mix. he slipped on the ice a couple weekends ago and has been limping so we took him in for some xrays. turns out, he needs major surgery on  his knees and hips (arthritis in his hips, knees are worn out).

this is what lars wrote me over IM:

"I will drop him on Thursday morning at 7.30, he will have (basically 50lb fishing wire) tendon anchored on the outside on the knee, looped around some where above the knee and then back to the anchor point, times two - then they will open him up on both sides of his hips and do a denevesation of both of his hips at the same time, cutting the nerves and scraping the joint and socket. Knee recovery is app. 6-8 week and the hips are 2-3 weeks"

please think good thoughts about taylor. he is lars' everything (besides me Big Smile) and i just want him to pull through and be better than ever when he's done. he's still a pup at heart so i know he's got a lot of good years left in him if this all goes well.
