Five fingers footwear

I'm going to look at some funky finger shoes tomorrow.  I have a horrible time with enclosed shoes making my feet cramp but I can walk for miles in flip flops.  I also spend my time on the treadmill in nothing but socks.  I'm hoping the "barefoot" shoes will make San Diego sightseeing much more comfortable for me.

Re: Five fingers footwear

  • I want a pair! I've decided if I get more serious about walking/running I will buy them. My friends swear by them.

  • I hear good things....but I overpronate and I have craptastic ankles and knees. I'm pretty terrified to run in anything without a lot of support. I do walk miles upon miles in flip flops during the summer, though!

  • I've got two friends that use them for running and swear by them to the point they won't consider everything else.

I know Ronckers carries a good line of them.

  • I have good and bad things about them.  Mostly people's complaints are that they do hurt your feet after prolonged wear b/c most (not all) of them don't offer any cushy support.  I've also heard that they are super comfy and practical to wear for things like water sports.  I also know that Benchmark Outfitters in Blue Ash carries a few different styles of them.

  • Also look at Nike Frees.   I know they are closed toe, but they have the same idea behind them.  I don't prefer to run in them because I have too many feet/ leg issues, but they are great for lifting.

  • I've seen those.  Not sure if I could tolerate them or not.  Hubs has this weird toe phobia.  He cannot stand for anyone to touch his toes, can barely cut his own toenails, can't even look at someone else touching thier toes.  He would have an absolute meltdown if I wore those shoes.  That almost makes me want to buy a pair!Devil

LMFAO! I hate feet, and the idea of having things between my toes icks me out.

  • There are a handful of people at my gym who wear these regularly.  They say they love them.  They are great for weightlifting - especially deadlifting and olympic moves.  I think they are ugly and I'll settle for my Adidas Sambas anyday!
