Moms, moms to be - running out of snack ideas

I am running out of snacks that don't nauseate me. Anything you like/liked?

Even when trying to find things to munch on around the house I am at a loss. I find myself sipping orange juice and munchig on Kashi cookies here and there but those can be to be too much as well. I really feel like the key to me not getting really sick yet has been all the small snacks but I really am running out of stuff because I have burnt myself out on so many that were okay at first.

Re: Moms, moms to be - running out of snack ideas

  • - Cheese and apple slices, I prefer the green apples because they're more tart.
    - Pickles
    - raw broccoli dunked in a little ranch dressing, was huge for me between 4-8 weeks
    - half a toasted bagel with cream cheese/peanut butter/jam (cream cheese and jam is my favorite)
    - pretzels

    HTH!

  • I ate a ton of peanut butter crackers when I was pregnant. I'm trying to think of what else...I feel like I ate pretty well and had several small snacks a day.

  • thanks ladies. I did not expect this to be an issue, I haven't been 'sick' yet but there are times when I think that would actually make me feel better. I know gross.

Mar I so badly want to eat pickles but have been trying to cut back on my sodium (I usually eat pickles like a mad women) I even stopped eating salted crackers, not such a great idea since the plain ones eventually made me sick. I only eat green apples they are the bomb. I had not thought about raw brocoli though I may have to try that one.

Summer peanut on the afformentioned apples is my combo of choice lately since I burned myself out on the crackers.

Oh and I can't even look at sour patch kids anymore. Blech.

Seriously if you guys can think of anything else let me know, dh is doing groceries without me this week and I am giving him a list.

  • What about green grapes?

Oh good one I feel like I haven't seen them at the grocery store, and that is one thing I wanted to get organic and just kind of forgot all about it.

  • String cheese!  And I was really big on english muffins for a while.
  • first tri it was all bread, bagels, pretzels, crackers sour patch kids and fresh fruit for me.  I started eating my normal staples once I hit second tri.  Just eat what sounds good/goes down easily right now.
  • One of my favorites was bagel with cream cheese and apple juice. I cried the one day at DD when they didn't have apple juice.

    Grapes

    green apples

pickles I would eat them out of a jar at night

    crackers with peanut butter

    wheat thins and cheese

I know exactly what you mean. Hang in there -- it'll get better! (I still can't believe you're KU'ed! squeee!!!)

I ate saltines, Kashi cereal bars, any fresh fruit I could find (cantoloupe, watermelon, grapes, oranges -- anything with lots of water [and sugar!]), and pretty much anything else that struck my fancy at the moment. I didn't frequently want to eat, so if I saw something (or thought of it) that I wanted to eat, I just did it. You gotta do what you gotta do!

  • Thanks ladies! I have to be honest and say I am one of those annoyingly super picky people even before being ku so that makes it even worse.

Tonight dh re-heated some leftover pizza and that pretty much sealed the deal that I don't think I will be able to handle pizza moving forward it was the sickest I have felt so far (food smell and sight induced).

I really need to find a place with more of an organic selection it's so hard in the winter (for certain things only I mean I'm not like crazy organic lady or anything).

    *Rebek* I know I can't either. LOL
