Good Morning!

I was supposed to be at training this week in Toronto (well, today to Thurs) but I'm just too busy to be away from work for 3 days right now!

Derek picked up the hardwood last night and I'm so excited.  We made a last minute colour change when we were ordering, and I'm really glad we did.  It's fantastic.  Now, we just have to figure out what we're doing with the air vents.  Derek wants flush mount ones, but they have to make them special.  But I want the floor in NOW, so he's trying to figure something out.

I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday, but I had a major case of the sads after I got home from work.  I was tired and just couldn't shake it.  I've decided today will be a happy day.  I plan on getting in a kick arse workout too, so that should help!

How is everyone today?

Re: Good Morning!

  • Good morning!

Today feels like a Monday. I was supposed to work from home, but couldn't get logged on, so of course I ended up coming into work 1 1/2 hours later then usual. It has completely thrown my whole day off.

I am looking forward to working out tonight with DH.  I am excited that he gets to start coming to Zumba with me again!  Counting down the days until Friday night!

  • Sorry for the sads, raynes. Have a great workout tonight. :)

Good morning, all. Last night was busy -- gym, lots of laundry, and I found out I got into the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile run again. Yay! So I get to run 10 miles in April. I'm trying to balance my running workouts and weight workouts so that I have a good run and stay strong.

Tonight is my book club meeting which I'm really looking forward to; we missed last month's, so we have two to discuss.  I need to find some recs for next month, too, so off to goodreads to get some suggestions.

  • Hello ladies.  Good luck with the floor Raynes, hope you get it soon!

I'm feeling better today, although the nose is starting to run.  Lovely.  I had my annual health assessment this morning, which seemed to go well, although the tests will all come back next week.  She does want me to do a follow up with a breast specialist about a potential cyst, but shouldn't be anything to worry about - just want to make sure my body is all spic and span for potential baby!

Otherwise a pretty quiet day.  Work is very slow right now, so it's a struggle to keep busy and the days are going so slow.  But only 6 more work days to our holiday, so woohoo!

  • Good morning ladies.  I feel like a broken record today when I say that work is so incredibly busy.  I truly can't wait until year-end is over, and I get to take a break from working evenings and weekends.  But I also feel really bad about complaining because I'm really happy that the real estate market has picked up (finally).

On top of work, FIL is coming into town today and staying with B and I until Friday evening.  I know it's kinda mean to say this, but I am really not looking forward to it.  He is pretty socially akward, and I don't really have a lot of time these days to sit and make small talk with him.  On the other hand, I feel bad that I will be working late and won't get to see him.  But then again, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Raynes,  you should definitely go with the flush air vents.  I know it requires waiting a bit longer, but it will be well worth it.  My parents have them in their house, and they look fantastic.  B and I have hardwood floor and regular white vents, and I think they look crapy and cheap.  The white paint has faded and in some spots they are brownish.  I guess we really should replace them, but truth be told, we're just lazy and it never occurs to me when I'm at the hardware store.

  • Ok, I lied.... here's my real post...

Mehhh on the Tuesday, want to get past tomorrow.  I have 2 meetings, one from 11-12 then a biggie from 12-2 then our xmas party is from 3-6. I'll be happy when it's Thursday....

Last night I slept like crap.  I woke up and went to the bathroom, but when I checked the clock it was only 130... I norm have been getting up around 5/530.  Then after I felt soooo sick and was wide awake and verge of puking until 330.  I slept an extra hour this morning, but was only 15 minutes late.

Can't wait for this wk to end already....

  • Good Morning.

Today I'm off work and going to get cleaning done, go to the gym and pick up a few small things for DH for his stocking.  We're not really doing big presents this year.  When we need something, we discuss it and go buy it, so I don't feel the need to exchange presents.  Also, we're always trying to downsize and minimize and don't want to add to any clutter.  Wow, I sound full of Christmas cheer!

  • Mornin',

I was full of the sads yesterday too Raynes. Except mine came from the fact that I was trying to leave work early to go visit my Grandma who had surgery and it being unseasonably cold and my lack  of driving my car it was dead. So I got to go back to work, not visit my Grandma and try and fix my car. Only to find out this morning that my fix didn't work and I need a new battery.

    ugh

Has your club read Zeitoun by Dave Eggers yet?  That's what we are reading for our club and the girl who chose it did a ton of research on goodreads.  I'm still waiting for it to come from Amazon so I haven't started it yet, but it sounds like a great discussion book!

We haven't, and it seems pretty interesting. I'll put it down on my list for tonight. Thank you!

  • Happy Tuesday!

I'm on my way out the door to pick up my first pair of glasses. Tonight my Gibs has his first Christmas concert and then I have to pick up cookie dough from his fundraiser. He sold the most in his class with 16 pails. I'm so proud of him, he made all but 1 of the sales on his own.

  • I tried and tried to fend off this cold, but my body gave in last night. I feel like I was hit by a freight train.

I was up and down all night because I couldn't breath, and then we lost power due to high wind and rain. The weather is supposed to stay like this through Saturday, when the temps are supposed to drop and freeze. Fabulous.

  • raynes - I also vote for the flush mount vents. We used those when installing our hardwood floors and they looks awesome. The vents just blend into the floor. I can send you a picture of our floors when I get home, although I assume that you've already done your research.

Today has been interesting at work already. We had an "emergency" last night and I've been scrambling ever since to try to fix it. The good news is that tomorrow is my last day here! Big Smile

  • Good morning!

I'm tired this morning. Last night V kept me up with a loooong discussion about when we should start telling people that I'm KU. He's super eager but I'd feel better at Christmas when I'll be 10 weeks. He also needs to understand that it's just not a good idea for me to stay up until 1:00am anymore. Angry

I'd say we're about 99% going with the flush mounts, it's just a matter of when/how we'll get/install them.  Hopefully the guy from the flooring place has called Derek and they've totally worked it out by now.

  • Good morning ladies. For the second day in a row I woke up with a sore throat. I feel worse than yesterday and I'm starting to feel a cold coming on. I can't take anything for it and I really don't want to be sick so I hope liquids and rest will help me keep this cold away. I'm at work today but not sure I'll make it through the whole day. Hope you all have a good day.

  • Oh Tuesday, you're not nearly as fun as Friday.

Today has been crazy at work. We opened a new building on campus and there was a huge ceremony, all of which creates a clusterfuck of nonsense. I finally get to sit at my desk for a bit before we have to go clean up the mess. Thankfully, I brought a PBJ and could eat at my desk to stay off my feet. They hurt so bad from standing on them since 8 this morning, and in heels to be all business-like today. Bleh.

  • Today I am quite burpy.  It's somewhat disconcerting.  Today has also been the longest day ever and it's not over yet.  I think the universe knows that my first u/s is tomorrow and that I am stressed out about, so it is conspiring to make tomorrow never get here.
