Black Swan/movies

Has anyone seen this? I really want to, but when my H asks what it's about and I reply that it centers around a ballerina going psycho while trying to land the lead role in Swan Lake, I think he will flat out refuse.

I'm thinking about going by myself to see it tonight but I want to know how creepy it is. I don't know if I can do creepy solo.

As an alternative, has anyone seen anything that is currently playing and worthy of watching in the theater?

Re: Black Swan/movies

  • I can't remember the last time I saw a movie in the theatre.  Maybe Alice in Wonderland?  Anyway, I have no real input, but I felt bad that nobody has responded to you.

Maybe you could go see Tron Legacy and then come back and tell me if it's as bad as I think it will be.  Then you'd be providing a service.  And you probably won't get scared.

i hate going to the theatre in general though, so i am no help. i would almost be willing to go to see the new Harry Potter.

Tell your husband there is Natalie Portman girl on girl action. I suspect he'll agree to go.

  • A friend of mine saw it.  I can't remember her exact comments, but I think she said she liked it but it frequently had borderline cheesy moments.  She said it was a good B movie.

  • I am wary of seeing another psychological thriller.  I think it gives the filmmakers too much leeway to play "real or not real?" instead of sacking up and giving the audience clear answers.
