My parents met at a red light in Miami. Before the light turned green they were able to exchange phone numbers.
My mom said on their first date my dad got fall down drunk and ended up puking every where (which if you knew my dad you would never believe this.......he doesn't drink AT ALL). Anyway, she decided to excuse herself for the date early and vowed to never talk to him again.
Finally after weeks of him pestering her, she finally agreed to a second date........where he forgot his wallet and she had to pay for dinner.
Many bouquets of roses later to make up for the two bad dates, they are still together

If you knew my Mom, you would not think this is even possible. My Dad tells me some pretty hilarious stories about my Mom. I only just recently learned that they met @ the bar, and my Dad told me that.
I'm pretty naive. I grew up thinking that my Mom was raised the way that she raised us, and that she lived by the same rules that she imposed upon us. wrong. My dad cracks me up w/ some stories he's told.
Mine were actually in the same kindergarten class, but don't remember each other.
Then, they were HS sweethearts. They were in the marching band together.
This all would be very cute if they weren't divorced now.

My grandparents I do know.
My grandpa had a blind date with my grandma's roommate, grandmas roommate chickened out and didn't want to go so my grandma went out with my grandpa because she felt bad for him. They've been together ever since
Oh, and after six months of dating my mom proposed to my dad standing on the bar while they were out with friends one night.

that made me laugh out loud for real.
Maybe my mom......my dad, not so much! Believe me, when I heard this story my response was, "So my dad HAS been in a bar before!". These days his idea of a fun night would be sitting in his favorite chair reading Aviation Weekly. That or watching the History Channel on the highest volume setting the TV has.
All my life I have known him like this......not they type of guy who is the life of the party!

I don't know technically how/where they met except that my dad was stationed in England when he was in the US Air Force and met my mom there.
They got married there and then my dad had to fly back and my mom came a few weeks later. My mom flew into NYC (my dad was like in Colorado or something) and was snowed in so she couldn't catch her next flight. My poor mom didn't know how to find a hotel as she had never been to the US before and couldn't understand why my dad couldn't just get in a car and drive and pick her up.
