A gal I know through my work just dropped off a bag of clothes that her little guy (she had twins, girl and boy, in May) never got a chance to wear before he grew out of those sizes.
The kicker - they also have a 4 year old that was just diagnosed neuroblastoma. She is currently in the hospital on her 3rd round of chemo, the doctor did say the tumor has shrunk up to 50% already and they hope to remove the remaining in surgery soon. Also, she said her little girl is feeling the best she has felt in months (the tumor was causing pressure and pain, which is how they found it) and is in great spirits. Just warms my heart to hear that she is doing so well!
It absolutely amazes me that with all she has going on in her life, she still takes the time to bring me those.
Re: So humbling
How very very kind of her.
Could you make her a dinner or something so during surgery/etc they have an easy night?
Actually, I'm planning on putting together some sort of package for her little girl. Something with activities, it sounds like trying to keep her entertained is the big issue right now since she has to stay at the hospital all week vs. going home each night. That and I want to buy one of those cute knit hats with the flowers on them for her. Winter here is cold enough and she's pretty much lost all of her hair already
Any suggestions for fun crafts/activities for a 4 year old?
Well my almost 5 yr old nephew only talks about these:

and

I think a hat is a great idea.
Heather- Jordan Creek has Mommy & Me Kiosks with those hats right now- I'm not sure if they have ones big enough for a four year old?
Either way, some people in this world amaze me with their kindness!
Jackie - great suggestions, thank you!
Melissa - There is actually a shop here in Urbandale I think I might check out, it's called the Pink Hippo. They have a ton of cute girly items (hint hint - for May
)
Here is their website if you want to check it out the next time you're in town:

Sending prayers to that little girl.

That's so nice of her!
As someone who did play therapy in a hospital, I can't express just how popular these that go with these are! We could never get enough of them. The kids loved making them and I became a pro at ironing them!
