A month or so ago I posted asking a question about selling my gold. Anyway, I took the gold to a few places here in Texas to get some quotes and the highest for $412.
I heard about Gold Stash for Cash from Dave Ramsey so we decided to send the gold off to see what we got. We received a check from them for $275 so I called them and told them I was denying their offer and send my gold back. They said no problem all I had to do was send them back the check.
Well today I received a call from one of their customer service reps asking why I declined the offer and what was the amount I was looking to get. I told him about the other quote I received from a local jeweler and he put me on hold. He came back an offered me $475 for the gold! I was shocked!
So, if anyone is interested in selling their gold, deny the first offer and hopefully they will counter offer with something more acceptable. Just wanted to pass this along incase someone is interested in selling their gold

Re: F/U on Selling Gold.
..it sounds like they already melted your gold and wasn't going to be able to give it back.
Either way it worked out for you
I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. After spilling paint all over the brand new carpet in the nursery, I decided to take in all of my yellow gold, that I never wear, and see what they would give me for it. One bracelet I was attached to and told MH that I wouldn't sell unless I got around $500 for all of it.
I was offered like $247 and turned it down, well actually I laughed at the woman and I went to get up and she said "hold on, let me call corporate", they came back with $450. We sold and bought beautiful new flooring for the nursery.

I was told that you always get a higher quote towards the end of the month also. They gold buying places have to meet a quota.
