Re: BOOYA, BIOTCH!!!!

  • I think I missed the backstory on this. Why did you take your landlord to court? But congrats!!

  • Congrats! I missed the story too.. I think.
    Anniversary
  • He took ME to court!!  Said that we didn't give him notice that we were moving out so he was suing me for backrent.  Um, bullsh!t!!!  Also said that we owed him for damages and that was bullsh!t too.  He was a d!ckface and we forfeited our security deposit just to be done with him and then he tried to come back and say we owed him like 1800 bucks.  He had no case... obviously or else the mofo would have showed up.  I was kinda looking forward to seeing his face when the judge ruled in my favor.

  • That all happened over on the nest didn't it! I remember it being a nightmare for you!
  • YesYesYes (that's 3 thumbs up)
  • As I read this I got the visual of you thrusting in your pelvis and hitting your upper thighs, like "SUCK IT, B!TCH!"

    Yay for good news!

That's pretty much what I did in my head as I was typing!!!

We figured that the guy was just trying to scare me.  He threatened with the lawsuit and didn't expect me to fight it.  He was probably thinking that I would just start handing over money like some pushover.  YOU THOUGHT WRONG!!!  Stu doesn't back down to ANYBODY!!!

Haven't you been having problems with that like forever???  I'd definitely look into your lease agreement and see if there's anything you can do!!

Well, here's the thing: When we moved in, there was a combined heating and cooling unit, and both parts worked fine. Then the air conditioning part died at the beginning of the summer, and the landlord wouldn't do anything until we finally threatened to put our rent into an escrow account. So they replaced the old combo unit with a furnace where the old unit used to be (in the ceiling upstairs) and a separate air conditioner in the back yard. The new air conditioner worked fine.

The heat worked fine until the temperatures dropped below 30 recently. Now it turns out that the new furnace can't seem to handle the cold temperatures. It's been heating and running the blower nonstop for at least 24 hours, and it's still only 66 degrees in here.

I left a message for the manager, but I'm not sure what to say other than "Your brand-new furnace sucks. Buy yet another one, please." I know that it's illegal to rent a place out without heat in the winter, but we do have heat. It's just not as good as I'd like. It's probably still considered habitable, though. Just when I start liking the place again...

  • I would just let them know that you don't think the heat is working as efficiently as it should and that it's affecting your power bills (if you have actual documentation, that helps), because if it hasn't already, it will.  Just ask them if there is anything they can do about it because it's too cold in your house
