Outdoor wedding locations
My SIL recently got engaged (so excited for her!) and she's looking to plan an outdoor ceremony for July. I directed her to the knot as a starting point, but I know quite a few of you had outdoor weddings in the past. Any suggestions of places to look in to for an outdoor ceremony? She wants the reception indoors, so bonus points if it has reception options on location as well! She hasn't narrowed it down to any specific area of the cities yet, as she knows it might be hard with a shorter engagement. TIA

Re: Outdoor wedding locations
Millenium Gardens at the Plymouth Creek Center--this fills up fast, but they will do Friday weddings as well.
I've heard great things about Gale Woods Farm (Chaska, Chanhassen area I think), but I don't know about reception location there.

What about a park? There's Rice Park in downtown St. Paul, with several reception locations bordering the park - 317 on Rice Park, Landmark Center, James J. Hill Library or St. Paul Hotel. Irvine Park is also close and has a gorgeous fountain and a gazebo.
There's the Eagan Community Center - outdoor ceremony locations there.
Lots of golf courses, I've been to weddings/receptions at all of these places:
Mendakota Country Club
Brackett's Crossing Country Club
Stonebrooke Golf Club
The Legends
I'm sure there are a ton more options ... these are the ones I can think of at the moment.

We got married at Centennial Lakes too. It was a really gorgeous setting and we had our reception there too. But as you mentioned, it's better for non-huge weddings. But I just wanted to put in another vote for it. We received lots of compliments.
This is where I got married: http://www.panolavalleygardens.com/
Our reception was here: http://www.scandiacreamery.com/index.htm
I have some of my professional photos and reviews about the site and the reception site found here: https://sites.google.com/site/mrssarahandmicah/home
What is her style? Our reception site has an outdoor courtyard for ceremonies - Mill City Museum. It's right on the river and is a really beautiful place. It is not a "traditional" venue by any means but that is why we LOVED it!!
Here is our reception set up.
We went to a reception at Gale Woods Farm. It was beautiful. They had lawn games set up, a campfire, and all the outside trees were strung with lights. The actual reception space is inside a huge new barn. It was pretty bare-bones but clean and very nice. A "blank canvas" if you will.

We got married at Nicollet Commons Park in Burnsville, it is gorgeous! And there is alot of locations close for the reception.
We had our reception at Chateau Lamothe, and I cannot rave about them enough. Doris the owner is AMAZING and was like a wedding planner. I love love love her. We got married almost 5 years ago and she still remembers us.
Some of the mansions in St. Paul/Mpls are also an options. Our wedding was at the St. Paul College Club on Summit Ave. Ceremony was outdoors in their pretty little backyard, and the reception was inside the mansion.

I agree with Gale Woods Farm. I have attended a wedding there with the sheep in the field. I also have performed a ceremony at Centennial Lakes and it was beautiful and fun. I have also done one at the MN Landscape Arboretum. The couple had their ceremony in one of the gardens and then had the reception indoors.
Let me know if she would like any more recommendations. I work in the wedding profession as does decemberjen.
Our friends got married at Mississippi Dunes and had a gorgeous outdoor wedding with an indoor reception.
We were on a budget for our wedding and had our reception at the Links at Northfork. It was winter so there was no outdoor ceremony, but I know they have a place for it. The whole reception room has HUGE picture windows which we loved and everyone there was very helpful and accommodating.
