TTC Check In

Hello everyone!  How are you doing this week?  Hope everyone is doing well :)

Does you have any questions about TTC?

Have you learned anything new and interesting lately about TTC?

Do you have any vents you want to get out?

What's you method for TTC?  Are you just winging it?  Charting?  OPKs?  Anything else?

Re: TTC Check In

  • I just got back from getting my blood drawn at my OB/GYN's office. They want to test my beta numbers one more time just to confirm that I am no longer pregnant. I am not holding my breath on that one.......I know with 100% certainty I am not pregnant any longer :( It will be nice when I can move on from this.

I have a follow up appointment tomorrow with my OB to figure out the next step. Since I got pregnant last cycle I don't know if there is anything that needs to be done other than making sure I ovulate this cycle. So I am kind of confused as to why I have an appointment tomorrow.....but whatever, I would rather have a doctor who is willing to help me get pregnant than one who isn't interested :)

I am currently on CD 12 and I am anxiously awaiting O. My last two cycles have been 29 days so I have my fingers crossed that my 60+ day cycles are a thing of the past. I have started using OPKs again and charting. I am trying not to get too obsessed with it all!

I am also drinking green tea and POM juice as well as taking Evening Primrose Oil capulets. Once I know O is confirmed I am going to eat some pineapple core. I highly doubt any of these things will make a real impact on TTC but for now it's providing me with some security that I am doing something to help out. Silly, I know.

I hope everyone else is having a good week and there's an explosion of BFP posts in the near future! GL to everybody!

  • It's looking like we're going to have to take a break from TTC for a while.  We were looking to change our health insurance b/c ours went up A LOT for next year.  But after much research, the stupid *hitty plan that we have is still the cheapest.  We have to pay completely out of pocket for ins. since neither of our jobs offer it to us.  We were also quoted a family plan price, just to see what we'd be paying should we have a baby.  The family plan would be 2x as much as our mortgage!!!

So, I'm searching for a job that offers health ins.  No one is hiring during the holidays.  Health insurance sucks!

Holy crap. I'm sorry, that is horrible.

Health insurance is the 2nd reason why chris can not leave his job. We have great benefits and my job does not offer anything right now.

I'm sorry you have to put TTC on hold =(

...and before you ask, No, we aren't not TTC.. I just lurk =/

Good luck to you!  How long is your typical cycle?  Do you consistently O on the same CD each month?

I don't have any charts of mine that I can confirm I O'ed.  I charted years ago but I can't remember my log in and password to access those charts :(  So, I am anxious to see a chart of mine with crosshairs confirming an O!  The past two cycles have been 29 days so I am hoping I will O this weekend.  But with my luck, I will have another 62 day cycle that will need to be ended with a round of Provera.

Typical cycle is 27 days, although last month was 31 days, kind of.  I say kind of because I was spotting around day 28, but AF didn't come out in full force to day 31.  If I assume day 31 was CD 1 I'm on CD9 and I typically O between day 13 and day 15.  Sunday would be day 13 (if I assume CD1 based on 31 day cycle instead of when I started spotting).  Hence, I've started using OPK's a little early, because I'm not 100% convinced what day was CD1.

I'm starting to wonder at what point I need to talk to an OB/GYN (I haven't found a new one since I moved to FL) but this is cycle 6, with charting and no luck, and I'm 33.  I guess a few more months, but the thought stresses me out, which I'm sure doesn't help Smile

You know what they say 'New house, new baby'! :)  Not for me... but maybe for you.

I'd find an OB/GYN now.  You could go for a regular appt. & mention your concerns.  Maybe they'll want to do something now.

New house, new baby happened for my SIL, so I can dream.  I figure I'll get through the holidays, and the new year.  Mainly I'm thinking about insurance deductibles, we switched a couple of months ago when DH started a new job.  We have a good size deductible, so I'd rather have my deductible money go towards something that's not going to reset in a few weeks :)

  • Mrs.Jason I'm sorry to hear about your loss :(

I had been charting but stopped this cycle after my Dad passed away. I am planning to start charting again next cycle. I have been using OPK's the last few days hoping to catch a positive but no such luck. So I'm not sure if O'd or not yet since I have not been charting.

  • So sorry for your loss.....GL to you!
  • Well, I am expecting AF anyday :(  Cycle #1 I'm thinking I'm out.   Low temps recently, so I'm expecting it.  I want to try the pom juice and pineapple core.  Kathy, what are the capsules you're taking?  I feel like I'm obsessing over this, and I don't want it to be like that.  But, I can't help it :(  I'm charting and using OPK.  However, must not use them right b/c I never get a +.  When is the best to do those?  TIA and GL to everyone!!
