XP-Frustrating Convo w/ Mom-Need your help!
In another political conversation with my mother today, I asked her what she thought of Powell's endoresement. Of course she said, "Well, I was a little surprised, but then not really too much." Now I'm thinking, oh really? rolling eyes...why do you say that??? Wait for it...Wait for it...."Well, he is a very well accomplished black man..."
Then in talking about campaign money and negative ads, she first tried to say that OBC was just as negative and then went on to say, "Well they don't have as much negative to say on McCain." I then went on to argue that, on the contrary, they have plenty they can use against McCain, but at this point, they don't really need to. She didn't want to believe me, began to stonewall and didn't want to talk politics anymore.
So this is where you ladies come in. I'd like to give her an idea of all the negative info (that is actually credible) the OBC could use on McCain, if they chose to. I'm starting to compile sites with info and short summaries of each negative piece. And....GO! :-)

My mom is a very intelligent, pro-choice, pro-gay rights republican. She will NEVER EVER EVER vote for a democrat. EVER.
My advice? Agree to disagree and don't talk about it. It will preserve your relationship in the long run. My mom knows that I know she considers me a pinko.. and she knows that I consider her a right wingnut... but we love each other anyway!
