Whoa...brownie covered oreos

So it's been a crazy couple of weeks and the other night I was finally catching up on reading some posts I'd missed (I don't think I signed on for almost a week!) and caught the famed brownie covered oreo craze.  I decided to make these tonight for DH's potluck at work...WOW.  They are awesome!

I wonder what other cookies we can cover with brownie batter?  LOL...

Re: Whoa...brownie covered oreos

  • there are now andes cookies and i'm betting those would be AWESOME in brownie batter! and i know that nikki preferred the golden oreos in brownie batter.

  • Yup.  I did the golden and the mint oreos - both fabulous!  AND I think they got even better after a few days.  They got nice and chewy.
  • Possible stupid question: how many muffin tins are you ladies using & about how long to make a whole batch (entire box of brownie mix)? I'm thinking I may need to pick up a few cheap pans to make the rotation in and out of the oven go faster.

  • to use the whole brownie mix it took 3 pans.
  • mine came out bad...they tasted great but looked bad. They did not come out nicly...I think I did not bake them long enough!!!

Meaning, they stuck to the pan?  I am worried about that part too... was hoping to make them for DS's bday party on Saturday as an extra dessert.

  • I was thinking about making these ... well actually already bought the stuff to make them but just haven't found the time, but I have a stupid question.

Did you ladies use the cupcake muffin liner or just put directly into the muffin pan?  Spray with non-stick spray?

  • Candace, I made them yesterday and would definitely say use cupcake liners. I sprayed the pan like crazy and still had sticking cookie issues.

Butting in - but thanks for the tip, Melissa!  I will definitely use the cupcake liners!
