Downtown Marriott
I think we have someone who works at Marriott here?? Maybe LJnTJ?
My husband is having his Christmas party on Friday night, we were thinking of staying up there so we don't have to drive back to Sarasota. We will be using the last of his Marriott reward points from his traveling days. Which Marriott do you recommend? We have enough points for any of them.

Re: Downtown Marriott
I just stayed at the Marriott Waterside in downtown Tampa on Friday night. It was my first time to stay there. We really liked our room. We ended up getting a suite, so it was pretty nice. We were down there for a concert and decided to make a full night out of it. I would recommend it. I should disclose that we really didn't use any of the facilities at the hotel since we were only there the one night and we didn't eat there at all. Took the streetcar over to Ybor on Saturday and had lunch down there.
One thing I would mention. Both Friday and Saturday night at the hotel were jamming. There were Christmas parties both nights and TONS of traffic trying to get in/out. Of course there were concerts going on both nights (we went to concerts on both nights, that's why I can tell you the traffic was terrible on Saturday too!) so that didn't help. Definitely allow a bit of extra time as it could be busy again this weekend.
