Balance ball as a chair?

I am currently being tempted by this:

especially because a promo code gets an additional % off and free shipping.

Has anyone ever used a balance ball as their work or home office chair? Know someone who has? Thoughts, experiences, pros/cons to share? I don't like that it doesn't have armrests...

  • I used this at my college job.  I liked it and I do think it helps you have better posture.  I tend to not sit still (bounce, shake foot, etc.) so that may have been one of the reasons I liked it.
  • Tigers used to use one!
  • I think it would be nice to have. I was Thinking of bring my giant ball to use at the new place. I didn't know they had ones like those.
  • When my job moved from an office to a home office, I used the ball.

I LOVED it.  I'm not using ours now, want to borrow it to give it a try before you buy?

  • I borrowed someone's ball/chair for a while.

My back hurt horribly for a day or so - I had it too high for me, and had to let some air out.  After that it worked WONDERFULLY.

  • I never used one, but I can see where they would be comfy...arm rests would be awesome!  My thought is..I would forget there is no back on it and I would lean back to stretch and fall over backwards!  LOL
  • I did  when I was pregnant...it was the only way to  get my back and pelvis to not hurt as  much.

One of my former co-workers used one as her desk chair and she could notice a difference in her abs/back after a few weeks.
