As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Mod Question
Has anyone actually applied to be the moderator?
Because if it's because of a lack of applicants, I'll definitely apply. I just felt like there were better candidates for the job than myself.
Someone should fan the flames in the non-savings post below so we have a big ole fight and NEED a mod.

I just posted a response on there because I was a little late to the post (my boss keeps giving me things to do when I want to knot!). I don't think anyone else took your posts as an "attack" Bec. I know I didn't.
how do mods get chosen?
I think all of you guys are great candidates--- isn't there voting? Does Nestie Annie chose??

Ferdy, two things:
1. I didn't read your post as an attack, but I re-read your posts afterward and can see how someone might read them that way. I have felt attacked before about my spending habits, and then decided that I was just being oversensitive and that the other poster didn't mean it that way. It's a sensitive subject (like I just said over in that thread).
2. There's no need to GBCK over a disagreement - people on here disagree about a lot of things, but we still generally get along.
A while back, they posted a bunch of questions and asked anyone that was interested to e-mail their responses to Nest Anni. I think she picks? There was no vote on either of my locals when they got new mods, so I don't think there is voting unless there's some weird Nest Committee somewhere.
Ahem.. it actually would be GBCN.. which Ferds, I totally don't think you should do that.
In terms of the MOD - do we really need one? I mean let's be honest. We are ta-haaaaame!

And yeah, we are tame. If something were to pop up that was bad (and this hasn't happened from what I've seen, ever) you can page a mod on another board to delete/lock a thread. You know, like extreme personal attacks, or revealing someone's personal contact info, or something.
I never applied. I thought about it but then I forgot to do it. FWIW, when I applied as the mod for my local on TK I never heard back and had to email KA again. Apparently sometimes their email system filters moderator stuff to junk mail. I found that kinda amusing, but anyway, once I asked again she made me the mod.

I was thinking, back when the mod post came, that I was going to ask the new mod (or do it myself if it wound up being me) to sticky a thread about PIPing, and pics/links in sigs. And another thread so everyone could give their name/date/location type info again, along with their TK screenname if it was different.
