I love Minnesota and I love winters. That being said, I am so snowed out! We had a huge snowstorm here that was followed up by really really really cold weather and high winds that have made cleanup difficult and 2 straight days of school closures. We *just* got plowed out late Monday evening from a storm that began Friday night and they had 23" in my neighborhood. That meant that we *just* got our sidewalks clear (haven't touched the garage yet but that might be a weekend project) and took care of the sidewalks for my elderly nextdoor neighbor as well. Our sidewalk was 4' deep in some spots after the plows went by. And the forecast for today... 2 more inches. blech.
At least 2" I can plow through with a snow blower rather than dig out with a shovel. There is that.... ![]()

I hate snow and, therefore, feel terribly sorry for you dealing with this blizzard. We're getting more here tonight (crossing my fingers it doesn't happen). It's been sooooooo cold here and there has been much more snow here than usual for this time of year--it normally starts at the end of the month or January. At least it's not freezing rain as usual.
Here's hoping you aren't completely snowed in again by tomorrow morning!
Yikes. 23" is tough... but 23" in a major city is a completely different ballgame. Where are they supposed to put the snow, ya know?
Do you have the single digit temperatures, too?
I'll tell them to send some of the dump trucks of snow that they're hauling out of the downtown areas your way!
We've gone around the bend on the temps. . . double digits below zero over night. DH took out the dog yesterday and when he came back in, he told me that he didn't think it was so bad out anymore. We got in the car to go to work (his was still buried so we carpooled) and the temperature was -4!! Today, we started out at 9 above so there is hope.
They're hauling snow out of the downtown areas by the dumptruck full. Where it is going from there, I have no idea actually.
Gah, I hate shoveling when it's that cold, because it's like you're shoveling pure ice. How's your dog doing in those temps?
