I think I understand now....

When Paul and Tiff first told us they were expecting, Brent's reaction was "we can't afford this with YOUR shopping habits"

Yep...understand that now!  I was just in Macy's and found 2 of the CUTEST outfits!  And with the sales?!  How do you resist?!

  • I think I might like to skip being a mom and jump right ahead to being a grandma. Being a grandma sounds perfect, you're a lucky lady :-)

  • Totally. My mother works at the mall. Every day when I talk to her, I hear the same line: "you'll never believe the good deal I got at Herberger's.....".

Which is totally fine with me because between that and hand me downs from friends I don't buy clothes for either kid!

  • My mom and MIL always have something for DD every time we visit.  I don't think grandmas can resist spoiling their grand kids.

  • Seriously, so far for Christmas he has 3 outfits, a huge box of diapers, a boppe pillow, 2 covers for said pillow, some toys, and 3 books.  Where does the madness END?!

ugh...I need my credit card taken away.....

  • Just wait, it gets WAY worse as they get older. My granddaughter is 15 months now, and she has more presents and stocking stuffers than everyone else put together. My H just shakes his head and laughs. I can only see it getting worse as she gets older.
If you have a children's place up there, you have to check it out. Their prices are great and if you sign up for emails you can get all kinds of % off.
  • no Children's Palace.  :(  Which is most likely a GOOD thing from what you just said!  lol
  • I think Fargo has a Children's Place.  I buy my nephews clothes by the bagful from there and Carter's.  I love Gymboree but a little out of my price range for how fast DD is growing.

Just a tip from a relatively (7months) new mom... If you are going to buy, don't forget about buying the next few sizes.  I am not buying more than 6-12 months out but we had a flood of NB clothes and now that she is 6-9 months, we don't have 1/3 as much.  Not that you need a lot but looking back, I wish we would have exchanged some of it for larger sizes to even things out a bit.  And if you do buy up a size or two, don't forget to consider the weather at each age!  You would be surprised the number of tanks we received in sizes she is now wearing in winter!
