How do you pronounce the town you live in?
Is it "Poo-Yallup?" Sometimes in my head it sounds like "Pull Ya'll Up" which can't be right...
The Bump ate my signature.

Re: Hayley - random question
its pew-all-up I used to live there and a lot of my family still does!!
I went to college in Nampa, ID, and tons of my classmates were from Washington, so I knew.
I'll never forget learning how to pronounce Yakima properly. LOL
That is how I always pronounced it in my head too. Must be an east coast thing.
Hayley-- back east, most people pronounce it "Yuh-KEE-muh."
We have Ohiopyle, Schyulkill, Monongahela, Punxutawney, and many more here in PA.
Oh, and I grew up right by the Youghiogheny River. I used to be a receptionist at a Boy Scout camp, and one day some Scout's dad wanted to know where the boys were going to be rafting. I told him, and he asked me to spell it, so I did. He laughed at me and said that I'd never win a spelling test, but who's actually the idiot? I'd spelled it correctly!
Oh, and I cannot forget Blue Ball, Bird in Hand, and Intercourse, PA.
Those crazy people out east! (Hi, Megan!)
These might be the best ever.
Thanks for clarifying, Hayley! Here in CT we have a lot of strangely named rivers and areas as well...and local things like Berlin is pronounched "BER-lin" here unlike the Berlin in Germany which is Ber-LIN and how most people (not from around here originally) would assume it should be pronounced.
I grew up in an area that was originally settled by a lot of German immagrants; My favorite street name is Kuykendahl (Ker-kin-dall)
I went to college with a girl whose last name was Kuykendall (that was how you pronounced it, too)!
p.s. do you live in that newer area of Porter? across the highway from the Walmart/Whataburger/Hofbrau area? Your address is very similar to my bff's and they bought a house in that area.
p.p.s WHY are you torturing me by mentioning whataburger taquitos in the WTF post?! Do you know how many people I would have shanked for a taquito this morning? A lot.

That's my friend's last name!
I mean... we gots Paris, Italy AND Rome in Texas!
BLASPHEMY who doesn't know what a taquito is!?
Whataburger has breakfast taquitos - basically egg/meat/potato/salsa in a tortilla. like a thinner breakfast burrito. They are absolutely delicious. That is why you eat them. ?They also sell tasty biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Do not question the whataburger.

Don't let it happen again.
Haha, sorry. I'm passionate about my taquitos. They were my very favorite "I am getting CRUNK and need a delicious snack right now!" choice. And I weep for their absence since we don't have whataburger in CO. Also DH would probably leave me for one of their combos right now since he hasn't had one in a couple years now.?
