What are you getting DH for the Holidays?

So I'm at a total loss as to what to get DH for Christmas. I want to do something really special, since it's our first married Christmas together, but I just can't come up with anything! What are you girls getting for your hubbies? Any ideas or advice?

I thought about buying him concert tickets for a band he loves, but I'm afraid that he wouldn't be excited to get tickets to an event that's still several months away. Since we're both huge Sox fans and live in NH, I though about buying him Sox/Yankees tickets for an away game in New York, so then we'd be able to plan a weekend away this summer - but again, the event might be too far away from now.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

I think those are awesome ideas!  I am getting my DH a nice piece of luggage for traveling for work.  And of course, some other goodies!

  • As a fellow Red Sox fan I think the Sox/Yankees tickets would be an awesome idea :)   Maybe try and get the first series of the year?  Or maybe a new Cowboys jersey?  Hmmmm I'll keep brainstorming for ya :)

  • I'm getting DH a rack of lamb and sweet potatoes. Yes I am wrapping them (uncooked) and will cook them for him later.

I went overboard for his birthday so I am not intending on spending tons on Christmas.

  • Unfortunately we have decided not to get each other anything. :( We are going on a week vacation to Colorado to see his dad's family and we are flying out Christmas eve and we don't have the funds to do anything for each other :(

  • We agreed to not do anythign, however I did get him 3 photography books that he wants.

I think that the tickets are a really great idea!  in fact there was a segment on the radio yesterday morning about a survey of guys and what they want and dont want, and tickets to an event was the top gift choice.

Does he have any other hobbies, I also got my brother accessories for his camera (a tripod and a neck strap)?

  • DH and I got eachother half of a playstation 3. I get the blue ray half, and he gets the gaming half.

We got eachother some little things too...just because its fun to open stuff.

I think the baseball tickets are a great idea! It does get pretty ugly in NY for sox fans (DH is one, and I took him to a game last year)....but it is sooooo much fun. One year I got DH Green Monster tickets, because that is something a little more special then a regular game....it set it apart from the rest and was incredible!

  • I bought MH a set of adjustable weights for his birthday that I said were for his X-mas present too.  I also bought him a bluetooth.  It was only $0.99 after mail in rebate.  I couldn't pass the deal up!

It's actually cheaper now!!  A penny!! Here it is if anyone is interested:

  • ugh i went overboard this year... but from what i hear he did too!

i got him a home theater system (surround sound), a dual-control heated mattress pad (he always b*tches it's cold and i'm always hot!), private shooting lessons (we both have a LTC), and a bunch of other little crap!

i think the sox tickets are a good idea... maybe throw in dinner/lunch at a nearby sports bar?  or a jersey to go along with it???

good luck and i'm s ure w/e you get will be loved!
