Annnnnddd...she's back in the swing :/
Everyone told me Lillian's naps wouldn't extend past 45 minutes until I got her to nap in the crib. Well, after 10 days of napping only in the crib and following Ferber's directions on weaning baby's off sleep associations for naps to the tee, I give up. Her naps just kept getting shorter, and shorter, and shorter, and NOTHING I did would make them longer - I tried letting her cry for up to an hour and a half, making the time span between naps shorter, making the time span longer, changing the amount of night sleep, running in and nursing her the second she woke up, "wake to sleep" (going in and brushing her cheek at the 20 minute mark), letting her nap in bed with me, etc. At first she was taking two 25 minute naps, then 15 minute naps, and this morning she took a 10 minute nap. I think I have officially lost my mind and I am done. Do they make swings for toddlers?
Re: Annnnnddd...she's back in the swing :/
I am all about doing what you need to do to get by!! She will not be sleeping in the swing forever, I say do what works. Grace had her pacifier until just 2 months ago and I actually only took it away because she started biting holes in it and I was afraid she would choke. Lots of people had opinions about her still using it past 2 but it did not bother me and it worked for us.
I wish Liam would nap in his swing. This child will not nap anywhere for more than 30 minutes, not even on me. He spends the better part of the day whining and fussy because he is so tired and I have no idea how to help him nap
Let me know if you have any suggestions for my poor tired baby.
So sorry you're going through this
I say do what works. For us, the less we did the better. I hope she doesn't turn out like Caroline though and can stay in the swing longer. We had to get rid of it a few weeks ago. She would hang on to the mobile and pull herself up and out. She'd buck in it and the thing would wobble all over the place.
For now, if Llly sleeps in the swing, Lily sleeps in the swing, who cares
Yup, this!
I wholeheartedly agree.
