I'm in a rut. I haven't read a book I've been really into since finishing up the Outlander series (OH WHEN WILL THE NEXT BOOK BE OUT!?!?!
:)
So who has some good book recs? I read pretty much anything as long as it's got a good plot.
Re: Book Recs
I've been reading like a maniac later. It's amazing to have free time now that the wedding is over and our house is furnished and decorated LOL
Some books I've read recently and really liked:
Love Walked In - Marisa delos Santos
The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffennegger (sp?)
Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen (just heard this is going to be a move in April 2011!!!)
The Blue Bistro - Elin Hilderbrand
try ANYTHING written by Adriana Trigiani
and right now, I am working on "Julie and Julia" thanks to my generous elf!!!
I read the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood Series which was FANTASTIC. There are 10 books, so it will hold you over for a while. But when you get to the end you are going to be like "I need another one!". The whole series really is great.
I just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last night, so that is going to be my next series.
I really like anything by Chelsea Handler, because I find her to be hilarious.
I'm probably in the minority on this, but I wasn't crazy about the Dragon Tattoo series. It was worth reading but didn't grab me. Some of my favorites I've read recently (sorry I never remember authors):
The Help
Honolulu (by the same author who wrote Molokai, one of my favorite books - read that one if you haven't)
You've read the Hunger Games series, right? If not - do so immediately. For realz.
Still Alice
I just finished reading The Confession by John Grisham. It was a real page-turner, but it had a very clear political message (anti death penalty) and got sort of preachy at times, so I can see that being a turn off for some people.
Right now I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen, which was free on my Kindle along with other classics; not sure if you get freebies with the Nook also but it's nice to read one of the classics once in a while.
TTC #1 since 4/10, Dx: MFI IVF planned for April/May
Keep them coming girls!
I've read the Time Traveler's Wife - LOVED IT
Also read the Sookie Stackhouse series, Hunger Games and Dragon Tattoo series. Loved them all
The Help was fantastic as well.
But there are some books on there that I am going to look into! Now that I have my Nook, I'm always reading! hah

Oooh I was just thinking about posting a book recs thread, you mind reader!
I agree w/ Lori that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was just not exciting for me. Actually I couldn't get past pg. 50 or so -- this is only the second book I've ever given up on, and I read A LOT. DH stuck with it and really enjoyed it once he got past pg. 200, but he struggled up until then.
I just finished Juliet by Anne Fortier and omg omg it was good. So good. I had dreams about it last night it was so good!
Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani
Half-Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls (she wrote The Glass Castle which is also fantastic)
That's all I got for now.
Well, if you are in the mood for Fantasy:
Anything by Neil Gaiman: American Gods, Anansi Boys, The Graveyard, Neverwhere, Stardust, Good Omens
Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials Triology
Or some other favorites that are not fantasy but are eclectic:
Fool (King Lear through the perspective of the fool)
Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns
Three Cups of Tea
Life of Pi
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (the narrator of the story is autistic)
Post-Wedding Life Blog!
A10 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination: San Francisco!
Christopher Moore is amazing and hilarious! I've read all his books. And I've read both of Hosseini's books as well, amazing!
I'll look into the other books though, thanks!

Have you ever read Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs? Its by Chuck Klosterman.
Its all about pop culture, and is very very funny. Not sure if that is your type of read or not. He has another one that I have read "Killing Yourself to Live" which is about his travels to all places that have been important in American Music History.
