Whine, whine whine: Who wants to pay for my grad books?
I'm starting my grad classes next month... I'm only taking 2, but had to order 5 books. The prices through the school were OUTRAGEOUS so I took the ebay/ half.com version.... and it still cost $225 .... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
bltch over.

As soon as I win the lottery, I'll buy your books for you!!! haha
Man, when I was in college, I would buy the USED books and they'd still be absolutely outrageous. Then after the semester was over? I'd go back to the bookstore to try to sell them back.... "Oh, you paid $125 for this book? Here's 12 bucks back." It's a huge ripoff. Either that or every semester they'd come out with a new edition that you HAD to buy, so you'd have to pay full price for a brand new book that you most likely wouldn't be able to sell back
This exactly. I would never get hardly any money back. sh!t sucks.
You could look into renting textbooks; sometimes that's an option. There are also some texts available in electronic format now, and those can be cheaper than the physical versions. I'm guessing that the route you went was still probably the cheapest, though.
Textbooks are awful. I got off fairly cheaply because I was an English major in undergrad, so I bought a lot of Penguin Classics and stuff for a few bucks each. Grad school was pricier, and I bought most of my books used online, too.
Can't wait until HH starts his master's in counseling. Actually, I can't wait, because he really needs that degree to advance professionally, but the price tag... Yeah, I can wait on that.
yep
the E Books were more expensive than the ones I bought on ebay.
Lots of people are interested in a Master's in Counseling-- YAY!
