This board is so quiet.
Whatcha doin'?
I'm gearing up for the holidays. Tomorrow, I'm pulling my daughter out of school (naughty) to ride the sold-out Santa Train (nice).
That's her last day of school before the winter break. My mom is coming to visit next Tuesday. Wednesday, I'm having a bunch of 8-9 year olds spend the night for my daughter's birthday.
I should be cleaning the house and getting everything prepped. That's why I'm here... looking for something more interesting...
Catch me up on your life

Re: I miss you
I hear ya! It's crazy busy at both work and home, I pretty much lurk around here these days
We have been working on my step-daughter's new room and starting the nursery as well. All while Christmas shopping, wrapping and making sure presents have been shipped out that need to be. It's been C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!
Sadly, I'm ready for the holidays to be over just because I seem so stressed. It doesn't even seem like the holidays around here, we have received an inch of snow TO DATE (and I live in Denver). It doesn't seem like the holidays with no snow around here.
I wish I had next week off though, just to sit, relax and enjoy the holiday week and gear up for company that is flying in Thursday night

I miss you guys too! This board really has been quiet. The holidays are always more quiet than normal but this is a little more.
Thankfully all my packages have been sent out and I'm almost done with Christmas shopping for DH. The only thing I have left to get are stocking stuffers. He is so difficult to buy little things for cause he only tells me about big things he wants and he doesn't like the normal stocking stuffer things such as candy. Thankfully I have some time left.
I am very excited for Christmas and it feels like the days are dragging. However, I've been a little down about the fact that we don't have any family to visit or nearby for Christmas. I don't know why because I haven't been home for Christmas in over 5 years and last year it was just DH and I... but for some reason it's really hitting me and I feel like a key part of what makes Christmas so exciting for me is missing.
Besides Christmas/holiday stuff, I'm in a winter cleaning mode. I've been cleaning, organizing, getting rid of a TON of stuff. Basically my goal is to make sure the house is completely in order before I leave for 5-6 weeks for some stateside training. Let's hope after I work my butt off I won't come back to a house that has been tainted by DH's bachelor mode.
All I want to do is lay around and watch Christmas movies! But I have been too busy.
Yesterday was my day off and I spent the whole time running around from place to place, but it was worth it because I got all my shopping done! Now to wrap everything... Then a friend came over last night and we decorated cookies. I got the message-customizable cookie cutters from Williams-Sonoma (super cute!) so I've been playing around with those.
I have one more batch of cookies to make and if I am really lucky with timing, I can pack them and send out about 6 packages to my family before I have to work today. Otherwise they will have to wait until tomorrow, and who knows if they will make it in time?! ahh.
DH is sooo lucky - today is his last day of work.
Tomorrow is DH's last day at work before the new year. We leave for MN to see the IL's on Monday.
I've been trying to get to the gym as much as possible, job hunting, and trying to find a gift for MIL. Oh, and I'm also trying to use up all of our perishables before we leave for 10 days. I'm mostly concerned about a bunch of celery.
Hey, that Santa train sounds awesome!
Happy Birthday to your daughter!!
Two classes! Two classes separate me from my 2 week vacation.
I'm ridiculously pumped. My goal this Christmas is not to put on the 5 pounds I inevitably spend the rest of January working off.
