I NEED T&P ALSO (long)
Well as most of you know I work for my FIL.. I have worked with him for about 15-16 years part time, full time, while I was a hairdresser I always came in and did his books.. Since 2007 I have been working for him full time. Business in the past 6 months or so has been slow... Really slow.. He just told me yesterday that he is most likely closing the business.. I should be unemployed by February if not sooner.. I am in total shock. He has made a few unfortunate business deals and cannot recover from them.. He has basically lost quite a large amount of money and has been unable to bounce back.. Please keep us in your thoughts.. I am not sure what we are going to do..
Without my income, living in NY will be almost impossible, our taxes are sky high (over 10K/year now), our mortgage is pretty crazy and childcare is also ridiculous (over 1,000.00 a month). There are not many jobs around here.. I am sure it is bad all over.
Michael works for our Cable Company and knows that they are buying other cable companies across the country. If he wanted to transfer our choices are: Montana, Utah, Wyoming or Colorado.. Oh Boy!! I am a NYC girl and these are going to be a Huge change for all of us..
If anyone has any info on any of these states I would appreciate it.. I am not sure if any of my Nestie friends lives there, but a friendly face would surely help..

I've only been to Denver but I looooved it there. I also remember learning from several articles and from psych classes in college that Colorado has the least amount of cases of depression reported in the US (that may be dated info these days though).

Aw, that's rough Amy, I'm sorry. Sucks for your FIL to have to see his business end too.
All I know is that everyone that moves to/lives in Colorado, loves it. Like, LOVES it.
