freaking snow

it should only snow after i'm home safely at night or on the weekends when i don't have to go anywhere :(

yes, i know i'm being a brat, lol.

Re: freaking snow

  • I completely agree, but for me it's rain.  I hate driving in the rain, but I don't mind the rain if it's when I'm safely inside for the night.

    Whine away.

  • WITH YOU!

It sucks, especially today when I forgot my cell phone. I better not go in the ditch or I am going to be SOL.

  • I like snow when they declare a state of emergency and I'm not allowed to go to work.
  • Speaking of snow, my dad is on the east coast for a business trip, I think on Wollop's Island or some such place.  He was supposed to leave there today and drive up to NoVA to see his dad, but he's totally snowed in.  My mom called to tell me, and she and I had a good little chuckle over it.
  • Yuck, We still haven't had any snow yet...(yay)...but I am with you. I don't like it. Pretty to look at, nothing else.

  • Snow is most enjoyable from the comfort of your own home, while wearing pjs and sipping coffee. Actually, many kinds of weather are most enjoyable this way.

Have you seen New in Town where this happens to her and she uses red lingerie as a flag so someone sees her? I'm seriously thinking of putting something red in my car for this very reason. I already have those little heat packs that you break up and they get warm. I'm not looking forward to when I have to make a 45 min commute every day starting next month. Boo weather!

  • it's still snowing. so DH's friend who works in the town i do, is going to pick me up and take me to the new house. where DH is and said friend was planning on meeting him anyway to help with something. and then of course, DH will take me home from there. i still don't like being a passenger in the snow either, but it's better than me driving!
  • Last winter we had really bad snow and a friend of ours who goes to college on Long Island was lamenting that she wouldn't be able to drive home for a holiday. She's seriously one town over, which in this part of NJ means a mile or two. So E told her if she took the train to the city, he'd drove his Jeep in to work and drive her home. She was so happy it was ridiculous.
  • So, now would NOT be a good time to mention it was almost 70 here yesterday?  If it makes you feel any better we went from 40 to 70 back to 40.  Everyone around here is sick now too!

I enjoy snow from the inside.  I grew up in Texas and can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen snow (in Texas...ski trips don't count).

OMG, I remember my freshman year of college there was a girl on my hall who was from Houston & had never seen real snow (more than a light dusting).  The first snow of the season, she dragged her roommate out in the middle of the night to go play in the quad.

That would  be me!  I went to college in West Texas where it does get snow.  It was greatness and my roomie and I did go out and play in it!  However, it never failed to snow while I was home for Christmas break so, I only got to see accumulated snow there twice.

  • All I ask this year is that it wait to snow heavily until after I get my remote starter installed in the CR-V.  My parents got it for me for Chanukah, and they don't have an available appointment for installation 'til January 8.

Driving home today, chattering in my car 'til it warmed up, I was really lamenting having the starter but not having it.

Yes, especially if I don't have to leave until it's gone.
