Hair brush?

I use a lot of hair product and then brush my scalp.  Does anyone have any idea how to clean the "gunk" out of hair brushes?

  • Soak your brush in water over night.  The product on it swells up and turns to mush.  Take a small tooth brush and brush through the tight places, it cleans very easily.
  • If the brush is hard plastic - remove hair using a comb (I also use bobby pins to catch hair between close bristles and it works surprisingly well). Take a vase or other tall glass container and add a splash of bleach to enough water to cover the bristles. Soak for a few hours then rinse under hot water. The bleach eats away the gunk.

On gel or wood brushes, remove hair in the same way then massage or brush in shampoo. Allow it penetrate then rinse with hot water.
