Time to put the BGPs on. [vent - ignore]

So...H got word tonight that he has to report to a briefing during his Christmas 'break' and is no longer allowed to come home. Grrrr.

I knew this would happen with the Air Force and all, but it still hit me hard. Sucks, but time to focus on making Christmas awesome for JJ.

Sigh. /ventover

  • Oh no! Please vent away! You totally have the right to feel this way. Hope you and JJ have a good holiday despite dh being gone.

  • H said this is normal, but it seems unconscionable to me.  If they needed him, they shouldn't have told him he could go home just to renege.  That's bull.  I could see if a war just started, they'd need to terminate vacation time, but the one we're in has been ongoing.  They know about it already.  They should make their plans in advance.

Sorry, this just annoys me.  For you.

I agree with this. I mean, if he is on "stand by" then fair enough. But to say "nah you are off, enjoy" and then take it away again this close to Xmas is bull.

  • That stinks! Just focus on JJ. I bet Christmas will be so much fun with him this year.

I agree! How dissapointing :( you can vent all you need to about this!   ((hugs))

  • Oh, sweetie, that is devastating. I'm so sorry to hear that.

  • I'm so sorry, that totally sucks. I would have a huge hissy fit about this before sucking it up.

Why can't he come home after the meeting? Or before it and then go back early?

  • His squadron leader yanked the leave privileges after the commander called the briefing. Makes me feel better that none of the new guys can go home, but it still sucks. And, we lose half the value of the ticket I booked for him to fly home. Blah.

Thanks for making me feel better ladies. I appreciate it. I cried - a lot - about it last night, but that's the way it goes. I can count on one hand the number of times my dad was home at Christmas when he was in the Army, so we'll adjust. And, I get to send H and his roommate a fun gift box with home goodies and his presents. I'm excited to hear his reaction to his gifts. :)

  • So sorry, Ebonie.

Totally agree.  This sucks big time.  Don't apologize for venting, I feel so horrible for you!

Hopefully Christmas with little JJ and your family will keep you busy from thinking about him not being there.  Hang in there girl!
