Stopping in to re-introduce myself
...with a new name. I'm your favorite/least-favorite/I-have-no-idea-who-you-are regular from DC with (in my biased opinion) the cutest two kids in the Mid-Atlantic region. I decided to quit TN a couple of weeks ago and then changed my mind because I'm really going to need the expertise of the IN board next year after the big move and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for WCF.
Speaking of that big move, DH got his official job offer and will start in January so now we know with certainty that we will be moving abroad next year sometime. We won't find out where we'll be until February, but if anyone's interested I'll let you know.
Hopefully I haven't missed too many goings ons. A couple of weeks of working until 10 or 11 pm (and one terrible night/morning that ended at 2:30 am) and I'm starting to miss the days when I actually had a lunch break for nesting.

Jen812, I changed my screenname b/c I deleted my previous account so I had to start over with a new name when I had a change of heart since my old one no longer exists. I think I was ready for a rebirth anyway- a kinder, gentler me.
Sorry to disappoint that I don't have a BFP to share, Mayette. I think I've got as much on my plate as I can handle right now, but at least I get to live vicariously through many of the ladies on this board! Speaking of which, isn't your big u/s this week?!
Thanks for the kind words of support and camaraderie! DH acted like he was surprised and disappointed when I told him that I had deactivated my account, but then he rolled his eyes when he caught me on TN with my new name. You guys are too hard to quit!

My main concerns are that DH get posted somewhere that is not an unaccompanied post (so Afghanistan and Iraq are out) and has decent schools for DD. Part of me would really like to go to China, though DH is worried about the pollution if we are in a bigger city. There are so many places that I would like to go though that it's hard to narrow it down. There are several countries on every continent that I'd love to live in. We are actually not interested in going to most of Europe at this point b/c the pay would be bad and the cost of living would be high. We'll save that for later in his career when we have more money to really enjoy our time there.
As an example of some of the places that we could go, a recent bid list included: Nairobi, Kenya; Bratislava, Slovakia; Canberra, Australia; Beijing, China; Ashgabat, Turkmenistan; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Brussels, Belgium; Taipei, Taiwan; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Cotonou, Benin; and Kampala, Uganda- among others.
So yeah, we could pretty much end up anywhere! It's both exciting and nerve-wracking!
First off, congrats on your H finally getting the job! That is awesome! I know it has been something you guys have been wanted for a while now.
And it's good to see you back on here. I was starting to get worried about you! I like the new screen name! BTW, what was your original name? The one before FLV........I am drawing a blank.
