TGIF!

Thank goodness it's Friday!
It's only 8:30am here and I have nothing to do! :(

Yesterday we got snow and I left work at 10:45am, took me an hour to get home and it took Don 2 hrs to get home.  I baked some more and got laundry done so it was a nice producted snow day at home!

Tonight we were supposed to go back to Busch Garden's Christmastown with some friends, but I think it's going to be too gross out still from the snow yesterday.  Tomorrow I'm going wedding dress shopping with a girlfriend and I cannot wait!  Then I have to make my friend a fleece blanket for Christmas since we're meeting up on Sunday to exchange gifts. We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow night, which I hope does NOT happen!

Re: TGIF!

  • I didn't think this day would ever get here! I'm off for two wonderful weeks after today (thank you school system)! It's been a joke week anyway with christmas parties, plays, programs, etc. This should've been a half day anyway.

We're going home to my parents this weekend to celebrate my birthday and do a Dirty Santa thing with some friends. I can't wait!

I finished my Christmas shopping last night! I still have to make a little something for my friend to go along with hers but it's half way done now.

  • TGIF!  Forcasts for Boston are predicting a "possible" Nor'Easter for Sunday afternoon into Monday, which could bring us over a foot of snow or nothing at all.  This is literally what the meteorologists are predicting - all or nothing, so it's a little frustrating.  To be on the safe side, DH and I might go out tomorrow and stock up on a few groceries to hold us over and get the rest of our Christmas shopping done.  It would be really nice to have some snow before Christmas around here!!  *hoping*  I'd love an excuse to call out of work on Monday!

i keep hearing about this possible nor'easter and its "all or nothing" ness and i am so pissed.  the weather report shows NO snow here.  all i want is 2 feet of pow!

  • TGIF is right! Its been such a long week. I'm glad I only work Monday-Wednesday for the next 2 weeks. I feel bad for anyone in VA or southern MD. It seems like everyone had a ridiculous commute. I don't know how it happened but I made it home yesterday at my usual time with no issues.

I have SUCH a busy weekend. Tonight I'm going to the grocery store, tomorrow I have a Christmas party with some knotties on the E board and Sunday I have a ton of baking to finish.

seriously!  we have totally been getting gipped with the snow so far this year!  It's our turn!!  I am in the window that would get hit the hardest IF we get the storm so I am wishing and hoping and thinking and praying!

We have the same prediction in MD. I think I'm going to bring home work to do just in case I get snowed in and can't make it in on Monday.

  • Hiyooooo! TGIF!

I am pooped after partying it up last night. I had my party at The Capital Grille from 2-5. Then MFD met me and we popped into the lobby party at my office building. After that  we walked through the Christmas Village at City Hall, he got something to eat, and I made him go on the merry go round.

We walked over to his office party, and that was nice. Lots o' booze and food. We got home a little before 12.

Tonight I need to do some food shopping, cleaning, and gift wrapping.

  • I work with meteorologists and I hear none of the usual buzzing that happens when a storm is coming. We've got a little bit on the ground right now, like an inch, maybe, but the weather channel says no more snow until possibly Monday but even then it's only flurries.

    I want snow, too!

No real plans for this weekend. Sleeping, relaxing, maybe some cleaning.

  • I'm also hoping for snow.  You'd think the meteorologists would have gotten their acts together by now.

  • meteorologists are the only job i can think of that can be wrong that many times and still have a job and get paid!

  • My meteorologists are pretty good. According to them, the meteorologists who did poorly in school are the ones who end up on TV. One guy here WAS a TV weather man and he gets all embarrassed when people bring it up. Apparently meteorology is very competitive field.

  • How are they the ones that end up on TV then if they did so bad in school...put the brains behind the sceens?

  • I stayed home yesterday because I wasn't feeling well, and I didn't know that it had snowed until I was about to go to the store around 4 pm.  It was still snowing, and even though it was only a few inches, I didn't want to drive since they hadn't plowed our street and no one had been driving on it.  Still home today (sinus infection, I think), hoping they plow because I still need to go grocery shopping!

  • Happy Friday.  This was the longest freakin week ever!  Not sure what are plans are for the weekend.  We're expecing a "storm" which means tons of rain, but they've been saying that since Wednesday and all we have are sprinkles.  I don't like driving in the rain so we may just stay home this weekend drink mimosa's and bake cookies.

Yeah, I have no idea. That's what they say. They could just be making themselves feel better because maybe they all dreamed of being the weather man/woman when they were little and are just bitter about working in cubicles instead of in front of green screens.

  • Yay for Friday! Busy weekend ahead too, tonight (if I can stay up past my usual 10pm bedtime) we're going Cosmic bowling for a friend's birthday. Tomorrow is smog check for my vehicle and finish shopping for 2 people. Sunday is an early Christmas dinner/gift exchange with the IL. DH and I will go over there next weekend too but his MIL didn't want to tie us down with us having to visit both sides of the family all in one day so we're doing gift exchange early (hoping our nephews are coming up this weekend too but we won't know until tomorrow night). Also have the usual laundry, cleaning and now holiday baking to do too.

Sugar cookies (stars to be exact decorated with yellow royal icing) thumbrint cookies with raspberry preserves, lemon shortbread cookies, saltine toffee crunchies, pecan chocolate brittle.  I wanted to do chocolate covered pretzels and peppermint bark but I'm not sure.  On Sunday we're going to deliver the goodies to our families.
