Kitty housewarming gift?

A friend of ours just moved to one of the neighbourhoods we are considering and invited us to come over any time to check it out. I thought we should bring a housewarming gift and I'd also like to bring one for her cat Smile

I'm sure she has plenty of boxes from moving, so I thought maybe a toy. What are your kitties' faves? Sherlock isn't much into toys except crinkle balls, pen caps, and my slippers. Heh.

String. It's the best thing ever! Besides that, they love the little mice that they can bat around. They go crazy for those things and we are constantly finding them under the couch, in our laundry, everywhere. They love them.

Our cat has a fluffy white mouse that has (or had) a rattle in the middle, she loves it. She's on #3 due to "killing" the first few as a kitten. She also loves little balls she can bat around. Her favorite toys are the small caps off my hairspray, mousse, etc.

twist ties from bread/fruit/veggies packaging! also, mine LOVE cat nip. I've heard cat grass is awesome too, but I'm scared my cats will eat it and then throw it up, haha.

Laser pointer!! Do it! It's the only thing my cats will get off the couch and run around for. Olivia loves it too, haha.

Laser pointer or catnip. I was gifted a catnip banana, and so far it's the only one that Chloe hasn't been able to rip to shreds in 3 minutes flat. They both loooove it.

Da Bird! My kitties may or may not have gotten some other kitties one for Christmas. They absolutely love it. We can't keep it out, or it will be destroyed. Also, have you ever checked out moderncat.net? I follow the blog, and they have amazing recommendations. There's a lot of expensive but cool kitty furniture, but they have homemade toys and stuff from etsy that is reasonable.

A scratch pad might be nice since it's a new house. Don't want the cat attacking the furniture as soon as it's down. The only problem is certain cats like certain kinds.

My cats are currently enjoying the small christmas balls on the tree. I keep finding tons of them all over the floor in the morning. Thankfully, we thought to put all the breakable things at the top, knowing this would happen.

those little mice are awsome my P.P loves them she keeps putting them on my pillow. she also has a cork on some fishing line that my husband put up for her that dangles but I don't think you can get that from a store
