Who does the feast of 7 fishes on Christmas Eve?
I need to figure out a menu now that shrimp is not in my vocabulary. If you haven't been following my every post on FB
basically I did a shrimp challenge test today and didn't react like in hives that needed an epi pen again, but I got really bad nausea & cramping almost immediate upon eating a 1-2 shrimp. I am actually still sick so that I had Brent run out and fill my Rx for prednisone.
So now I am curious as to what dishes you guys serve. TIA!

Re: Who does the feast of 7 fishes on Christmas Eve?
I'm so sorry to hear this, Pam!
We used to do a broiled salmon, baked scrod, grilled scallops, baked stuffed shrimp, pickled herring, crab cakes and fried calamari. Do you react this way will all shellfish, or just shrimp?
We always have marinara sauce (with anchovies in it) and some kind of baked fish.
In the past we've had scallops, squid, lobster, crab...
We're actually taking Christmas Eve for ourselves this year instead of going to the family dinner, but I'll still make at least one type of fish. Maybe tuna cakes over salad.
We usually do spaghetti aglio e oglio (with anchovies in it), fried scallops, baked stuff shrimp, filet of sole, squid salad, snail salad, sometimes baccala and sometimes smelts. Yummo to everything but the baccala and smelts!
We also do antipasto (just the pickled stuff....cheese and prosciutto is for Christmas day only), rabe, this awesome mushroom rice that my mom makes, and vegetables.
Jen do you have the recipe for the squid salad? We usually do fried calamari & smelts in the red RI marinade sauce. But I think a salad might be nice this year.
My allergist is thinking that I should eliminate all crustaceans from my diet (shrimp, lobster, and clam I believe is the 3rd one). This is going to suck on Friday!
Oh thanks anyway! We make the snail salad but buy the cod fish salad. (bakala? sp?)
