rants/raves? are we still doing these?
Re: T.G.I.F.
Yes, please!
RANT!!!! I spent my snow day yesterday repeatedly scrubbing dog puke after the damn dog ate almost my entire bag of stocking stuffer candy. Yes, a dog can puke up perfectly intact candy wrappers over 24 hours after devouring them. You learn something new everyday.
Rave - My dad comes home from the hospital today after having his hip replaced Tuesday. Looking forward to spending the day with him tomorrow while my mother goes into work for a few hours.

Rant: One of the neighbor's dog keeps getting out of her apartment and runs up on my two dogs when we're on a walk and starts attacking them. It's getting really annoying!!
Rave: Got my biggest paycheck ever today thanks to working Thanksgiving and some overtime. Yay for extra Christmas spending money!
Rave - I got called for a job I applied for that would be a big raise, so I am cautiously hopeful.
Rant - There is some drama going on right now that I don't want to talk about on the internet. I'm pretty much a zombie at work today.
Rant: Still no wedding pictures
I'm starting to feel like they're never going to come. Also, this week has been exceptionally terrible. I hope the weekend and getting to spend it with H makes it better.
Rave: It's Friday, which means that it's the weekend, and H is off for the entire weekend. He's playing hockey tomorrow morning with my dad and their friends, and then we're heading up to MA to visit with some friends and his family. I'm hoping we get a storm here in CT on Sunday so that work is canceled on Monday morning.
ETA: I also rant that my body is exhibiting pregnancy symptoms (no period, extreme fatigue, and vomiting) and yet I've had two negative pregnancy tests. MAKE UP YOUR MIND, BODY!
Books read in 2012: 21/50
I hope you get your pictures, Bay! That really, really sucks
I sort of hope for the same storm on Sunday. There is possible snow talk, I just don't want to come to work since H is off for the rest of the year now. Jealous.
Rant: I was dumb and scheduled some sort of social event for us every day this weekend. The weekend before Christmas when we still have shopping to finish and a house to clean. Not one of my most brilliant ideas.
Rant - Freaking Cold will not go away. Not just my typical cold either - Cough so hard I throw up daily now. I am exhausted and just want to stay in bed. However - first week of new job and have no time off yet.No tlooking forward to still moving more out of the house this weekend.
Rave - Kind of liking my new job. Lots of freedom and actual designing! So exciing for me. I wish I felt better to enjoy it. Maybe we'll get done with the house and I'll be able to finally settle into the new place.
Rant: I am off today, and haven't done ANYTHING besides play on TN/TK. Seriously? This is wasteful.
Rant #2: Last night, DH asked me what I thought about him going back to work in an oil refinery... He used to do it, and made fantastic money, but was always gone. He decided he doesn't want to do it longterm, and hasn't for a couple years.... But he has a chance to go to Trinidad for 6 weeks and make some SERIOUS cashola.... So it's stupid for me to say no, but it really makes my tummy hurt to think of him being gone. I know 6 weeks doesn't sound like that long, but these jobs never end when they're supposed to, and I stay worried about him the entire time he works on these jobs. I've always said the only way I'd be okay with him going back into that line of work was if I could quit my job and travel with him, but this is supposedly a one-time deal, just to make some money to allow him to pursue a different career a little more freely. So it's selfish of me to say no, and so I said okay, he can look into it.
Rave: I am off today. And I have you ladies to vent to, so thanks for that.
I'm sure you're trying lots of different medicines, but have you tried the Robitussin cough gels? I think they're magical. Also, there are prescription cough pills (they're tiny and yellow, and I can never remember the name, but if you ask for "cough pearls" the doctor will know what you're talking about) that are also really good - but they don't have bad side effects like some cough medicine (like knocking you out). Get better soon!!!

Rant: There is no coffee at work, and I can't function without coffee.
Rave: It's Friday. Whoo hoo! This week has been brutal, glad for the break.
Rant: We've been back from India for 12 days. It has rained here all 12 days. Rain is good, but it's just so dark and dreary and the traffic gets so bad.
Rave: As the doctor promised, my stomach feels loads better... maybe I can eat REAL food this weekend.
Don't worry, they'll come... we got married the same weekend and I'm not expecting mine til mid-January. When they arrive they'll be perfect and you'll have so much fun!
Rant: People lack common sense. We had our holiday lunch today. People who participated in the lunch felt like they still get their regular lunch in addition to the company lunch. Ok?
We were also doing a White Elephant gift exchange at work, but I forgot to bring a present. So, I had to stop at the store on the way in to pick something up and ended up just barely making it to work on time.
Rave: I spent $8 on the gift for the White Elephant. I ended up drawing the last number, so I got to pick whatever gift I wanted. I "stole" the Wilton Cookie Pro Ultra 2 cookie press. Best White Elephant gift ever (and $8 I've ever spent)!
ETA: Rave: Temurlang gave me some really awesome advice! I haven't gotten a chance to email you back yet (my phone isn't letting me send emails), but I'll email you back tonight. I really appreciate it!
Totally ditto this. I managed to end up with bronchitis this September (yeah, right before the wedding), and these were tiny little godsends. They were that awesome.

Yeah I think it's bronchitis. Problem is no medical coverage right now until my new one kicks in and my old one ended last week. Ugh. I will get the robitussin stuff. I cannot lay down in bed right now, have to sit up to sleep and I haven't gotten a full night in well over a week now. Thanks for the advice!
So glad to hear it was helpful! I hope things improve!
Rant: The landlord of the place we want to rent is taking forever!
Rave: Celebrating Christmas this weekend with Hubs family from MA, always a good time! Finish some shopping and decorating, BIL and SIL are sleeping over and I love them to death they are seriously our best friends. Seeing my parents, sister, and nephews on Sunday and celebrating my parents 34th anniversary!
