Help! SOS SOS Cookie Emergency!

OK it's not really an emergency. I made my cookie dough for the GTG the night before last and put it in the fridge. I just took it out and made one batch that came out horrible (very brown edges, but raw in the middle). I've never refrigerated cookie dough before. Do I need to let it warm to room temperature first? Or do I just need to chuck it and start from scratch? If that's the case, you gals might be getting store bought cookies tomorrow, haha

  • O-R-E-O!

not a baking expert, but I have chilled dough before and not had a problem.

maybe bake at a lower temp for longer?

  • It's usually ok to start with refrigerated (or even frozen) dough.  But hey, it's worth a try letting it come up to room temperature to see if that fixes the problem.

  • You should make the pb cup cookies you posted the other day.  I made them and they are SO good!
  • I'm right there with you..I used my KA to make my mint oreo truffles and the filling is too soft.  I can barely roll it even after in the fridge for a bit!  :-(  They still taste yummy, just look like crap.  I like my cookies crispy - bring what you have!!!

  • Jess-try putting them in the freezer if you haven't already dipped them.  I just made them and found them to be soft too, but oh so yummy!

I made these for DH's work the other day. I should have made these for you ladies. I love those cookies!

  • I made another batch last night.  My DH is a cookie monster and loves pb cups, so it was a perfect combo.
  • Jess- my truffles are always soft. I put them in the fridge and make a few, put them in the fridge, make a few etc. Heat from my hands always kills them.
  • You didn't even need to worry!  They were delish.

Thanks! A slice of bread left in the container overnight with the cookies works wonders!  ;)
