Need serious cleaning advice!

Hi Girls,

I have a question I'm hoping you can help with. DH and I live in a house that was built in 1982 and the previous owners did something to the baths and sinks that left a strange reside around the sink drain and the entire way around the tub where the bathtub meets the tile.

Does anyone have recommendations for a serious industrial-strength cleaner that's worked when nothing else has? I would be forever grateful!

Re: Need serious cleaning advice!

  • Wow!  Not sure if this will help - but perhaps try CLR  (Calcium, Lime & Rust) cleaner.  Comes in a yellow spray bottle.

    Good Luck!

  • Its probably old caulk residue. Remove the old caulking and recaulk. They may have used silicone caulk, which leaves a greasy residue. Paint thinner will remove it. Use an old terrycloth rag.
