Family Christmas in small house
So next week we are having my family over for Christmas. It will be about 18 people in all, including 4 children. My concern is that our living room is fairly small. Everyone decided that we would be hosting the get together, as nobody in my family has yet to see the house. I'm nervous that everyone fit comfortably. I don't want people just be falling all over themselves. I was thinking of putting an extra card table in the spare room to allow people more room to eat. Or maybe putting the tree in the kitchen, where there is more room. I was just looking for advice on how to maximize space, or if anyone has ever dealt with this problem. I am excited about having my family over, just a little stressed. Thanks for your help!
Re: Family Christmas in small house
I am going through something similar. Since this is our first Christmas together and with having SS for Christmas I wanted to make all the running around minimal and invited my family over. Granted its only my mom, dad, 2 brothers and SIL plus me, FI and SS. But we live in an apartment and space is limited.
What we are doing is putting a long table in the kitchen for food, well serve buffet style. Then put a card table in the living room for extra seating to when we eat.
I like this suggestion. My aunt has Christmas in her condo and the "adults" eat in the dining room while the "children (and their children) eat in a the spare room. I don't like the spare room because I feel so left out of everything and it is really hard to move about once you get the table and chairs and everyone in. I would suggest doing the living room for extra table space,
